Hey all,

I'm going to add post '96 4Runner calipers to the front of my FJ62. I've read that the Toyota Supra brake master works well as a replacemnt for the stock FJ62 in this configuration because it has a large-enough bore to fill the 4Runner pistons.

Does anyone know what year Supra master? I've looked at them, and the forward brake line port is positioned on top of the master, rather than on the side.

Any info would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

You can also use a mini truck master/booster. The V6 units from 1990 up, and the 4cyl from around 1992 and up are all 1" bore. Get the calipers, booster, and master from the same boneyard truck. They are a bolt on. I know on older mini-trucks the booster needs to be dented to clear the steering u-joint at the firewall. Don't know if necessary on FJ6X.

pretty sure this is a 90+ V6 master, its on a 45 however

My master went out in my 60 and I swapped it for a early 90s master and it works great. Plus it looks good. :D

Does the low brake fluid switch remain functional with the later, larger M/C? On the stock 62 M/C the switch is in the reservoir cap.
