Suggestion for rotor and pads

It seems one of the rotors in front has hair line crack so it is time to replace the front rotors and pads any suggestion ? Are brake labs product any good ? another question is Drill rotors or slotted or OEM style ?

You can get slotted drilled on Amazon Prime with ceramic pads. Everyone's doing it ! Make sure you follow the break in procedure.

I went old school. Solid plain premium rotors from EBC and akebono ceramic brake pads on all 4 wheels. They are doing great even after a hard downhill weekend climbing from sea level to over 10000 ft and back down to sea level. I’ve only had them for 7k miles but doing great.

I also have akebono pads but with centric plain rotors and so far I love them. Great braking and very little dust. The akebono's don't feel too grabby but aren't mushy either.

I currently have Powerstop front and EBC rear rotors with akebono pads and they have lasted longer than any brakes I have tried on a GX. I am testing the Terrain Tamer kit shortly so I will be swapping out everything.

I just got a snorkel from Amazon for $128.00 it looks pretty good and tough plastic has any body done one of these that have some pictures and some fine points how to install this or not to make mistakes that I can not revers .

Old thread, but I'll ask anyway: My wife's GX460 either has warped rotors or bad brake deposits on them, so I'm about to replace all 4 rotors and pads. She never takes it off road and it'll never tow anything.

That being said, I've usually been disappointed when I stray from OEM pads / rotors. They always have the promise of "superior stopping power," but my only experience has been that that would be true....if you're on the track! In fact, I have had some pads that were downright scary until they got some heat in them, and I surely don't want something like that for her.

Bottom line: for a mall cruiser, is there any reason to deviate from OEM? Have any of you REALLY experienced better stopping with any other pads/rotors? If so, I'd like to hear it, because increased stopping certainly is an attractive feature. I just want to make sure there's some real-world experiences of better braking before I do the boring thing and replace all 4 with standard OEM.

I went with near-OEM: Centric Premium rotors which are painted to avoid unsightly rust and Akebono Ultra Premium Ceramic pads, which are ceramic like the OEM pads. I did this because they should give me similar performance to OEM for much cheaper.

Performance brakes don't translate directly to shorter stopping distances. If you can trigger anti-lock with your current brakes, your tires are what is limiting your current braking.

What performance brakes will get you is reduced fade (ability to perform multiple hard stops without losing stopping power). Different brake pads might offer different brake feel as well (more initial bite).

Napa Adaptive One ceramics and their off the shelf solid/vented rotors. Also bleeding the entire system made a huge difference in my performance. I know its apples and oranges but I race motorcycles off road and I'm really hard on brakes. The first change I make to my bikes is to replace the trick looking drilled/wavy rotors with solid rotors because they wear much better in off road conditions. I also bleed the rears like every other race.
