The steering rack on my '05 LX is weeping a bit and was advised by another forum member that AT-250 added during my flush phase can soften the seals enough to stop a minor seepage.

I have 190K miles on the clock so I am sure a new rack is in my future--- but for now, I am going to flush a few times.

The trouble is I cannot locate any AT-205 on any website. Seems all are out of stock.

Is there an available quality equivalent that softens but does not swell the seals?

Yeah, I've been searching local stores in vain for AT205 for a couple months.

Does anyone have experience with Lubegard version-- I have no desire to mess up my rack anymore than it is- but it is only going to get worse?

I called ATP and was told that they may have it by the end of the year- no real promise.

Must be made out of the country-- anyone knows where. May be able to get it overseas- shipping will not be low but I would really like to reduce this minor weeping.
See this post on another forum....obtaining ATP at-205 reseal - https://carkiller.com/scottykilmer/qa/at-205-shortage/

Best bet might be to just get lucky and find some store that has some in stock or find some on ebay or the likes. Alternatively might need to wait out until it comes back in-stock.

Lubegard LG-FIXX is a similar product, supposed to do the same thing.

I went to their webpage-- they say it revitalizes seals as well as lubricated them- so it does sound like the same chemical. I am more worried about the ones that talk about swelling up the seals.

Blue Devil also talks about revitalizing seals so both are good possibilities.

I was thinking AT-250 because a few very experienced forum members have mentioned that they have used it with success with no harm to the rack.

Need to do more research when it comes to Toyota systems. There are a few negative reviews of both, but they're always are.

I have opened bottle with only few oz used

I'd step on it half and half with mobile one synthetic. Break it up in one ounce vials for $15. a pop.

Their website has Smart Blend Synthetics branding all over it. Not to mention they are based in Houston, TX (part of Phillips 66) vs Selmer, Tenn. Not sure if they were always part of them or have been purchased recently.

Perhaps a new product?

I'll check my local stores on Sunday to see if they have any stock.

Thank you. There seem to be a few options if I cannot find AT-250.

Lubetech or the Blue Devil state that they soften up seals like AT-250 states. I looked at the Smart Blend and they only tell you that it works- but by what action. I do not want a fluid that works by swelling up the seals. I am hoping more members can chime in and give their experience with products that worked well on the Toyota steering rack seals.
