Torque wrench went bad as i was installing the pump. By the time I realized, I was past the 15 psi point and the stud stripped inside the block. I swear I could not believe I was putting that much pressure on the wrench but it sure didn't take much. Now I was hoping to get some suggestions on getting it out. It spins both directions but does not move. Nut is still on. Only thing I can think of is to take the other bolts out and put some pressure on the bolt by pulling the pump up while turning the bolt.

^^^^^^^^ Probably work, or if there is room to clamp a ViseGrip on the nut and use something (screwdriver) to pry from underneath you might get it out that way, but whatever you come up with you are on the right track. You'll need to apply some force in the Axial direction to remove it. Turning it may or may not make any difference.

I think you'll find stripped threads on the stud (just replace) or pulled threads in the block (helicoil time).

Yeah I am just assuming the Aluminum would have stripped before the stud would. But that would be great if it was just the stud.

It might just be the studs. Just get nee oem bolts/studs and replace them. If the old stud.

Try a new stud. 15 ft is not much. If it will not work try a helicoil type thing. But do it rigjt and remove the pump and do it right.

Yeah. Luckily i convinced myself of that. I WAS thinking about trying to do it with the pump on, but I know it would not be worth it. I have to take it off anyway to use it to help pry the stud out. My next thread is going to be continuing the search for my mystery knock. I was hoping it was the water pump but it is still there.

Messed with the PS pump recently? the gear on those is known to make a knock for a while after jaw-pullers are used on it.

No. Never touched it. I have a friend here who did that and I am familiar with that noise. At least his is more of a grind. Mine is a random knock. I am trying to convince myself it is not a rod. I cannot for the life of me tell where it is coming from. I have been using a large screw driver as a stethoscope and I can never hear it anywhere. Top or bottom of the engine. And thennoise goes away completely after 3-5 minutes. It will not come back until the engine is completely cold.
