Strip connecting fan shroud to radiator (1 Viewer)

Trying to replace radiator.

at the very top of the shroud is a strip of

metal that appears to be welded or soldered, keeping the fan shroud on the radiator.

Do I just cut it?

Don’t cut it. The shroud lifts off it. Half of the clip you see is part of the shroud, the other part is a tab on the rad.

Also - unlikely that the replacement radiator will have the tab.

The tab thingy isn't needed. But do yourself a favor and get some new adhesive backed foam stripping to stick on to the sealing edges of the shroud. McMaster Carr has all sorts of choices.
