Stock shackle angle?

@White Stripe Did you ever find this info out? I am interested also. Thanks

OK, took a few days to pick up a protractor. Stock FJ62 on stock springs and shackles. Front are stock (soon to be replaced with stock length greaseable) and rear are replaced, but stock length. Truck sits on 31's.

Front I get 55 degrees and on rear between 70 and 75 degrees

Also remember that brand new stock springs had more arch in them when fresh so the shackle angles were steeper (more vertical). Old worn out flattened stock springs close to the bump stops rotate the shackles farther away from the axle making the shackle angle more compressed.

Agreed. Can give you other measurements from axle to bump stop if needed. Fronts are flatter, replacing this weekend

Yeah, if you have original stock springs with an unloaded truck & stock bumpers & no roof rack (all stock car), measure the distance between the bump stops & axle housing on the front & rear (for reference)

at my above measurements, Rear I am 3 1/4 to 3 1/2" between axle housing and bump stop, front I am 1 to 1 1/4" off. No weight, Stock looking truck. There was an ARB and winch on front that flattened them a bit. Being changed this weekend for a pair of much fewer miles.

After updated younger stock from springs, closer to 60 degrees on Friday ny and about 2" on bumpstop.
