Nice!
Go show everyone at the meeting tomorrow night in B'ham!

Looks great and thanks for sharing the pictures. I still have a lot of life left in my stock LXTs, but I plan to switch to BFG ATs in either 295 or 285 size. The rest of my truck is stock too.

I was gonna get the 295's, but some tire stores were telling me they were discontinued. I know the 295's are a little harder to find so I chose the 285's. If you ever need a 295 somewhere off the beaten path, I bet they would be hard to find.

We had about an inch of snow, but it only lasted about an hour. I haven't noticed a significant loss in power. Honestly, the ride quality is what I noticed the most. There is a little more roar, but the softness of the ride and lack of road noise far out ways the roar. One note, my LTX's were probably 7 years old, they were so dry rotted that the beads broke off when the tire store tried to remove them. I only had one tire of 5 that I could reuse as a spare. So far, I really like the tire. I am planning a stock height replacement suspension in the spring.

Good thing for global warming or you might have had the snow stick around for a while. :p

Here's what mine looked like with 285s, pre lift

Old thread (getting the resurrection bump) but this is exactly what I'm looking to do. My 80 is on a stock setup (just replacing shocks as soon as they arrive via FedEx) and I've debated doing a lift. My wife and one of my daughters are both pretty small and already complain about how high the stock height is. I already caught crap by wanting to take off the steps. :meh:

My LTXs are getting pretty thin so I need to replace them with a good M/S setup before Halloween, as we get plenty of snow here in the Rockies. I've read that the BFGs don't fare well in the snow and wet so I'm shopping among these:

Cooper Discoverer ATP
Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2
Or most likely, these:
Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac

Any experience on these in snow and in the wet would be most appreciated.

Thanks for a great forum!

Out of those three choices I only have experience with the Duratrac. I have used them in snow and ice and they are the best I have experienced. I first had them in a 285 but now have 315's. I live in Illinois and we have frequently have ice in the winter. Not too much snow but when we do these tires feel invincible.
