Well it starts fine and runs fine over 2k rpm w choke on. As soon as I dump the choke, it stumbles & dies. Drove it around the block, pulls great w new 488s and has plenty of power but I'm guessing still vacuum leak. I'm outta town all week so i dropped it off at a shop down the street. I know the guy well & he knows 2Fs. We will see but I'm tired of FN w it :(

I've been there more than once...at some point it gets really aggravating...especially if you can't make any progress or things get worse. I wish I would have just paid someone to swap this @#$% heater core...but no-one around where I live has a clue about LC's...and heater cores are something that many don't look forward to doing anyway.

Gotta call from the shop & I feel like a dumb ass. Apparently the underside of intake manifold for 5/6 had a slight air gap & it sucked in the gasket. Can't see from above, guy said he had to go underneath w flashlight. I ordered double thick remflex gasket & new intake to head bolts. Stay tuned for more fun.

That's awesome that it is nothing too serious. Can't wait to see it back on the trails

Can anybody confirm the bolt size for the 4 hex head bolts that intake uses to head? I thought I remember using a 17mm socket which means size M10. Thread pitch is ultra fine so I'm thinking M10x1.0x??? Length?
Toyota #90110-12003. Dealer says description doesn't show.
I would measure myself but I'm out of town

SHE'S RUNNING!!!!
That Remflex gasket is the shiznit. Well worth $50 plus ship. Also used all new bolts. Thanks for all the help guys & for listening to my bullcrap. See ya soon

:moon:YEAH!

I've rigged up a switch for my pusher electric fan. Anyone know a source for rocker switches that mount in the OEM locations on the fj60 dash?
I'm triggering a relay that powers the fan...(switch just provides a ground signal to the relay...not the fan itself). Previously I just bought something off the internet...a 3 pole rocker switch (KU80011 / daystar) that's lighted. I can make this work as a temp solution but its not configured properly for what I want to do. this control is a ground...so off is no ground, and on is ground, I would like the switch to light when powered on...as a reminder its powered and to help me remember to turn it off. Ideas? I'm betting I could rob something off another 60 or another toyota rocker switch...I'm guessing someone has a good solution. I saw where Georg at valley hybrids has a little panel with switches that would serve my purpose and I'm going to get that... right now i"m just looking for one switch (lighted rocker type) . The one I have now...can't function as I want it to....because its three pole and if I run power to it..to power the light on the switch I loose the ability to use the switch to control the ground. It has a neg for the light in the switch and a power in and power out ...that's all. I just bought something on the spur of the moment and did not think about it. would even go with a lighted toggle....I know I can find those but would prefer the clean look of a rocker.

I'm using what I have now...to just loop on the ground wire....on power in is the wire from the relay and power out is a wire running to ground. (This serves my purpose and gets me by but not what I want to do), so then the neg for the lighted switch is left unplugged and I believe I'm just using it as a single pole...all I can with what I have at present.

So I don't know...if I can get something just like I'm thinking but I assume so. since the power to light the switch is independent of the control function, in my case I"m triggering a ground rather than voltage.

Truck made it up to fall creek falls & back! New 4.88 gears show 55mph on the speedo @ 2500 rpm. I'm guessing w 35s prob 60 or so.

One thing I noticed on the way home was a small bit of push rod rattle. Doesn't seem to do as much under load, more apparent down hill when I'm off the throttle. Think I need to re adjust the valves?

Looking good.

MEGA Swivel 5K Anchor

I know its climbing gear but these look like some nice options to use for tie-downs in a 60 bed. Yes I know they are $$...I've looked all over for something else that has a low profile and fully swivels and works. These fit the bill except they are pricey.... FYI

Anyone else found something different? I think the 62's have some type of tie-down in the bed and I know some suburbans do too. You could parts rob from the salvage yard.

I plan to install the above in my bed and use some type of backing plate or large fender/body type washer on the bottom side of the bed for reinforcement. I need some options to secure the items in my cargo area...rather than having them as they are now...loose.

Holy crap!!! What are you tying down? I've just got HF ones in my platform, screwed into the plywood w ratchet straps. Never had any issues but for sure much lighter duty than what you found.

I wanted a swivel top :).... got tired of looking after I found those.

My 02 suburban I had ....it had some nice tie-down swivel head bolts.. I probably should have just went salvage yard diving...but the internet has added to my lazy factor. I've looked all over for a reasonably sized bolt with a full swivel head...once place I forgot to look was mcCaster Carr...they probably have them...anyway...its all over but the crying now.
