My disc brake front axle build for my '76 FJ40, to replace the stock disc brake axle, will be starting in December or so. Maybe something will be available by then?

I bought a few of these to look at reproduction. I've ran these though 5 local CNC shops now. For the price I think they should be sold for, which is the cost of a good alignment, 60-75.00 at any reputable shop. It just isn't happening. Best quote for quality materials and tolerances was 76.00 each and I had to order a 250 minimum run plus a 1300.00 programming fee. By the time you add markup, shipping and handling... its not worth it for what you guys have relayed you'd pay for one (75-120 each x 92 inquiries)

If anyone is interested in a NIB OEM set, PM me. Even at the cost above its not worth my time to try and do my own work and I doubt it is for you either.

However, it is a nice tool to have to use once or twice in your lifetime.

wow those went quick. I was looking at this earlier and just now was going to pm you. oh well. thanks for checking it out jason. I guess I'll just have to suck up the cost and get one anyway.

I looked at having a local shop with a high end CNC lathe make these for me. The problem with the kit is that there are so many different setups. It would only make sense to run them in large-ish batches. Manufacturing quantities of 5 to 10 kits I'd have to sell them for $275. Making 100 kits at a time could bring the selling price down to around $200. It doesn't make sense for me because that would be a huge investment in inventory that would possibly sit around forever.

I know not the place, but figure i would post it in here :D

Pricing is back from the machine shop.

I placed an order for them today. They will be made from 4130 Chromoly with a bare machine finish. I should have them in stock in 3 weeks.

185.00 shipped to the lower 48.

PM me if interested.

Just a quick update. The tools are in production. I should have gotten them this week but the machinist set up the lathe for a negative touch off (OUCH) and snapped off a 600$ arbor tool. He's ordered another one and hopefully be back on track shortly.

All pieces are programmed now. So future runs will be much faster. Most of these are spoken for, but a few remain. I will post up when they are ready for purchase.

Mine came to my door (mail box not big enough so they came up the driveway), by way of USPS this afternoon. Thank you.
