:censor: thats a ridiculous price for a tool that looks so simple. I'm sure there are some vendors here that have lathes that could make those for a fraction of the cost!!

yes i'm complaining because i need one and just don't want to pay that much but likely will:bang:

That's a good idea, hopefully someone will make a few for us to buy!

With shipping it gets pretty expensive for a one time use tool.
But it's a needed tool. :-/

It makes me nervous borrowing a tool & having it shipped back & forth in case of damage or loss.

But if I could buy one for $125 or so, then with flat rate shipping wouldn't be too bad and would have it if needed again which would be nice.

Ok, so who's up for makin some for sale?! :-D

With somekind of drawings and measurements it would be quite simple machining project. Anyone got drawings/measurements?
I allready have the knuckle rebuild set, onlything missing is this tool.

I might have a lead on one that's affordable. I should know something Monday. I'll keep you posted.

I've thought about making these. The problem is there are so many different parts in a complete kit. It's a lot of machine time. I had my machine shop look at my Solidworks files and they guesstimated a cost of $75 to $100 to make them.

so the picture earlier in this thread isn't a whole kit? the picture earlier looks like a threaded rod with four machined dowels. is there more to it than that?

Well I checked with the local Toyota dealer and he presented me with Bosch / Toyota order form which is available online and the going price is
$308. I have also placed an inquiry with Amayama Trading
They show it available for $231.84 + shipping.
I haven't found it anywhere else currently for less. I see a lot of good prices in old post on the forum, but that's it.
After I purchase the knuckle tool and get my 42 setup, I plan to rent the tool to forum members in the U.S. Probably for $75.00 + round trip shipping cost. I hope this will help out some of you in need. I will follow up with any additional info.

just talked to jason at trail tailor to see if this is something he'd make. he's ordered a couple with the hopes of running a batch. no idea on cost yet but keep an eye open. hopefully it'll be a cheaper alternative!!

edit: that is if he decides its worth his time!!

@franklin40

Steering gauges arrived today.

One will go in my toolbox and the other will head to a CNC machine shop shortly for possible reproduction. Hope to have prices soon.

Anxious to see what they will cost.

I think this is a great tool to be offered to mudders!

I'm in for the right price. that being said I'm assuming Jason won't be reproducing them if they are the same price as Bosch so yes if you end up making them Jason I'll bite!
