Stand for early FJ40 engine

I have pulled the complete unit before. If you have a PTO I would advise removing it before.

You may still a transmission jack under the truck to get everything level to install the bolts at the rear motor mounts. With the split transfer case it was so heavy on the output side that tipped the whole assembly way out of level. I also needed a sling and come a long to keep it level until I go to the fire wall.

Thanks. I do have a couple floor jacks, lots of chain, load leveler, many ratchet straps… and a book of spare cuss words.

Here is a scrap wood and furniture mover stand I made. It’s held up fantastic and easy to move the engine around alone.

I built a stand following Byron’s plans. In fact, I built two. One stand will sit on a rolling dolly, the other stand will sit on a pallet.
