Frame off build for the prior owner by Cruiser Creations. Have receipts for over $58,000 invested into the build. It is the marriage of an FJ60 (front end and interior) and FJ62 (frame, tub, etc). If they had built it with a GM E-Rod crate motor, this would probably be a $58,000 wagon. They opted for the GM HO 350 crate, so that has an impact on the market. The guy I bought it from was a Seahawk's fan, so that's where the neon green highlights come from. I replaced the mirrors and the vent covers. The hood has a custom cut flat black industrial quality 3M vinyl sticker over the green. Looks great.
Looking for $20,000 OBO. Not in a hurry to sell. Full transparency: I haven't sold many cars and certainly never something like this. I'm sure you'll need a lot more info. Ask here and I'll give you an honest answer.
I've included a link to a stack of photos and an excel detailing the build.
I bought this wagon during the pandemic when my driving needs were less. Getting ready to start having to go back into the office and while I love driving this beast, I'm ready for something quieter and more practical. I don't have a barn to store toys in, and I've never taken it off road - so really I'm the wrong owner. Time for the next owner.
I live in St. Louis but I never drove it on salt. If it doesn't sell before winter, it'll stay in the garage while I drive my rusty SAAB through the slush.
Some highlights:
Virtually no rust. Yes "virtually" is a subjective measure - there are a couple of small spots of surface rust on the frame. NO material rust anywhere.
Rebuilt axles, transfer case, and differential.
I would call it a 5' paint job. It's not perfect, it has some chips, but it looks absolutely great. One spot I'd address (see below)
Tons of power from the HO350
NV4500 is a great transmission - though 2nd gear can be finicky engaging from first. Happy to discuss that further with interested parties.
4 Plus rear bumper, ARB front
A/C blows cold
Bedliner coating on the interior and exterior pan.
Things I would address if I were keeping it:
The 4 Plus bumper has rubbed some paint off of the rear hatch - no corrosion, but I'd touch it up.
If I were keeping the HO350, I'd install EFI.
After EFI I'd install cats. Not saying it would be legal in CA at that point, but at least I'd be happier with the emissions.
I would put insulation and carpet in the pan.
After that I'd add a stereo.
