but your going to have to wait for pics and install until I get home. I received one box of the kit a couple days ago and I CAN NOT WAIT to weld this thing together. Quality and detail is incredible!

Thanks Jim!!!!

Can't wait to see it installed. I actually mean I can't wait. PUT IT ON AND POST PICS!:) I may want to arrange to see it in person if you don't mind, once you have it on there. I have been watching your thread from day one.

Woohoo congrats dude! I'm sure you'll love yours, I totally dig on mine :bounce2:

:confused:you get that bumper from your sister or whomever.....sorry for the hijack

Hahaha Yea, I did. Its being powdercoated at the moment. I paid for gas, and then some for the "extra road trip". I'm hoping to get a rear bumper from the same maker...:D

ok ok... had to some other things tonight so I couldnt start on the bumper but here's some teaser pics of it...

oh, my wife got me a bender for christmas too... I'm still happy to sport Jim's bumper and its worth every penny even if I have my own bender now. It'll be awhile before I'm going to able to fab anything this nice.

saweet:bounce:

I for see tube buggy....

I can't wait to see it as well.

clint

yepper, that's the plan I think. Keep on wheelin my 60 and build a buggy over the next year or two for the serious trails. Honestly, I think I'll try a mini truck or sammy based Truggy first and see how it turns out.... Till then I plan doing a couple armor type goodies for the waggy.

alright... had a little time tonight to at least try to lay it out. Jim am I close? Not sure how the pieces in the middle work yet.

you should have two 1.5" shortie straights that have a red 2" on them.
those are for the back, when you drop your tailgate, they are vertical on each side. the 2" end goes to the main bumper tube.
notch the top of the shorties to add a 1.5" 90 degree to wrap around the corner
page 8 post 223 ;) https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/177104-cheap-rear-bumper-8.html

then add the other 1.5" 90 degree tube and bring it forwad and down to the main tube.
weld the seems and add the extra 1.5" shorties that are marked 1.5 where ever you want along the sides.

make sense

I think I get it!!! so the two pieces with the 90s that were marked side and corner actually meet up and go from along the side quarter and around the the tail light and then connect back down to the main tube near the frame mounts/tailgate. Right? :)

Damn this bumper is cool and exactly what I envisioned! Very nice work Jim!

I get a nice long break here over the weekend (I have monday and Tuesday off too) so I should be able to get this thing on as long as I get some breaks in the rain. My cruiser doesnt fit in the garage...

that's it!!

back it in and hang a tarp.

you have no idea how many times i spent working like that in the snow last year.

i have hooks over my garage door to hook a tarp and then hang it over a truck and tie it off.
