Hello!
How to decently wash the frame, including on the inside? Any DYI tips?

So my daughter hit a curb on our 2004 MB e320 4matic. Busted the radiator, condenser and lower front bumper. Im strongly considering doing a rally build with this thing: leaving off the plastic and wheel liners, doing a skid place, possibly bull bar, 1-2” lift,…. Am I crazy?

Anyone fabricated their own aluminum skid plates?

Why would my Auto Lock stop working. It is set at 60 seconds and was working.

On my 2016 Is there a fuse for the door "AUTO LOCK" feature, and if so where is it?

If I sit in the car with the Key it would normally attempt to lock and then notice a FOB was inside the car and not lock the doors and give a message FOB in car. This is also not working.

For some reason my Auto Door lock set at 60 seconds stopped working. I switched it to 30 seconds to see if any difference and that didn't work either.

Everything else seems to be working as normal.

When I go into setting for the vehicle in the NAV unit it is set at 60 seconds.
When I lock or unlock the doors manually or by touching the handle that all works normal.

Just the Auto Lock stopped working.

This is the most LC200 thought that comes to mind: how fresh are the fob batteries?

The doors should "auto lock" after I have exited the vehicle and walked away and the vehicle cannot detect a FOB.
If it can detect the FOB it should attempt the Auto-Lock and put a message on the dash saying it detected a FOB.

Neither of these features are working.

I don't have much input here but if it were me, i'd hook up techstream and see what's going on in there. It may give you a hint of what's possibly broken. Hell, techstream tells me that my dvd monitors are unplugged..

Is there a front parking sensor on the 2016? I get beeps when my front corners get near stuff, but not when I'm close to something directly in front. Either there is no sensor there, or it's not working. It's worth mentioning that my my adaptive cruise control works fine, but I don't know if those things use the same sensors.

front sensors are on the lower bumper corners.

So is that to say there is no sensor for directly in front?

Correct. No parking sensor for directly in front - only the two front corners.

HTH

I find this super annoying as well. I've always wondered why it never beeps when I get close to a pole or something else.

Those sensors can be moved from 1 place to another.

switch to surround camera view and you can see the pole you're about to run into. Or just drive by braille and give it a bump :hillbilly:

There isn't one in the front (other than the corners) but you can move one ( I'd do drivers side one ) to the center if you are capable. I don't know if the system would allow you to just add one.

Like Bman52 said you can move then so they are closer together then they will cover the front and most of the corner.

I moved my cameras & Parking-sensors to where I wanted them when I switch out my bumpers.

You can also switch the camera view to front-view to see how close you are (button to the right of the steering wheel) .. though it's not an alarm.

My SQOD : Is there any way to change the oil change interval from 10,000 miles to 5,000? I have a 2016.

May warrant it's own thread but just noticed a strange noise at highway speeds on my LX. 2013 ~185k miles.

At highway speeds, when making slight steering wheel adjustments (not dead center/straight), there is a faint "whine" noise coming from what seems like the front left area of the steering wheel/column. It's hard to describe, almost sounds like a mix of a stereo buzz/whinning noise. There really isn't much vibration coming along with the noise and isn't causing the wheel to shake or anything like that. I honestly can't really tell if I can feel the noise/vibration or am just hearing it.

You can only hear it with the radio off/windows up. I honestly can't tell if it's coming from the steering wheel or somewhere in that area. Any ideas? Interior panels are rock solid so something is not loose. I believe it has to do when actually moving the steering wheel. Strange. No drivability issues.
