Tried to open my gas tank door, wouldn't pop open. If I have someone else pull the lever, I can get a finger in there, and it opens. The mechanism works, but it doesn't seem to have that POP to open. Is there a spring or something that I may have lost? TIA.

Yep.

Good example of a cheap/small part to keep in the vehicle in case the original breaks one day.
 
NJ coming through again, I imagine if I were the one doing it I woulda noticed it fall off to begin with. Headed to local Toyota now for a few.
 
I thought I saw someone post something about moving the exhaust on a 200 series to the side. After having mine for a while, I really like this idea because we sit on the tailgate often.

Anyone have experience in this or know the thread that I can’t find?

I routed my tail pipe to exit on the left hand side of the rear bumper. Its an easy job with an aftermarket bumper and will keep the hot exhaust from burning you but the smell/fumes are still noticeable.

Thanks for this. At the moment I am keeping the rear bumper stock - which might be a problem with melting. Did you change the resonator or did you only divert the tip?

The resonator was chopped off at the time I routed the exhaust to the side. There is no noticeable increase in the exhaust sound with it gone.

What is the difference between 'S' mode when you shift the gear selector to the left and manually change gears, S1,S2... Etc vs when you do it with the pedals on the steering which show up as D1, D2 .. etc

Is the S mode more aggressive?
Also when you get into the D mode using pedal shifters, how do you get out of it, is it like a long press on the pedal shifter?

What I am really trying to do is learn the right way to do engine braking on a 2016 LX570. I use it frequently by shifting the gear lever to the left and switching between S2, and S3 as needed during a hill descent and generally try to keep my engine rpm under 3000

Would appreciate your insights

Any particular reason you are shooting for less than 3k? No harm should come from anything under redline..

I’m not as familiar with the paddle shifters but yes the shifter to the left into S mode will set the highest gear the transmission will use. So if you don’t want it shifting to fourth, set it to S3.
 
The PPF on my hood has failed and looks like crap with a bunch of little tears. I’m getting paint correction done and the PPF removed and new PPF installed. The guy at the shop has warned me that sometimes when the PPF has failed, removing it can damage the paint. We’ll see how it goes. I guess worst case is I will have to repaint my hood or maybe wrap it.
i posted recently on removing ours ourselves. worked wonderfully if you want to give it a go yourself.
 
From what I've seen and experienced first hand only using quality PPF, it'd be a mess. Technically, the PPF is already multiple layered (assuming XPEL, etc). They do sell several variations of films and some are thicker than others.

Additionally, part of finishing PPF is using heat. Assuming you're applying adhesive backed film on top of adhesive backed film, I'd imagine you'd run into all sorts of issues with respect to the glue setting to the paint, edges peeling, etc.

Clearly YMMV, but give it a shot if you want.

Paint Protective Film. It is a "plastic" film applied on top of paint to protect the paint. Not part of the paint process.
