I just saw something in a post in this forum where somebody mentioned regularly cleaning out our sunroof drain line with a specific tool for the purpose.

It has never occurred to me to clean out my line.

Is this something most of you do annually?

(I do see the tools are pretty cheap on Amazon)

Frequency really should depend on your typical parking conditions. Outside? Under a tree in the fall? Spring with the pollen? Your drains will clog much more quickly than a desert vehicle that is garaged at home and work.

Just be careful with that tool that you don’t put too much force into it if it stops. It is possible to pop the interior drain lines off of their spot on the pan and then you really have a leak to deal with.

This reminds me I haven’t done mine in a couple years..

They didn’t link. It was a passing reference that caught my attention.

Is there a way to test the drain to see if you even need to clean it? I have the tool but I’ve only opened the sunroof when futzing with my roof rack a few times, always park in the garage, and this vehicle isn’t a daily driver so I feel like I’m not in the high risk category for cleaning.

Pretty simple. Open the sunroof then pour a glass of water into the front corners of the kindof gutter area under the sunroof opening edges. You’ll see a round 1/4” hole at the bottom of the front left and right corners.. those are the drains. That water will then run out of the front fender liner at the back of the wheel well.

Most of these don’t get cleaned with any frequency and while leaks causing problems seems common it’s only a very very small percentage of total vehicles. Even really lazy care for the drains will go a really long way.

The schematics I've seen online never have both in the same picture and they look to be the same part. I am chasing a p0441 code and want to get this right the first time. TIA from a sMoOTh bRaIn.

How about this? I didn't even have to photo shop in the one finger. This product may also be best solution for your SAIS problem. Even if it's not, there's a ton of info on the topic on their page.

Thank you! I don’t know if that’s what I’m looking for though. Best I can tell (from my finally being able to read a little of the FSM, P0441 has to do with the purge VSV being bad, or an overt leak somewhere. Model year 2021 if this helps figure out what I’m missing. Pic below. Again, TIA!

Sorry, saw the code and brought that to mind. I was confusing it with the P1441 that mine throws for SAIS.

Maybe try the simple stuff first, like a new gas cap and new PCV valve? There was also a recent thread where mice had chewed hoses.

@gasman4u these are the two VSVs on top of the engine. I’d be surprised if your PCV is bad on a 2021. Do you have an aux fuel tank?

Thank you. Gas cap is new as of a couple weeks ago. I'm going to try cleaning it (again) and maybe some light grease on the o-ring to absolutely rule that out.

That one is 25860-38010 in the diagrams, but that number is superseded by -0S010. It shouldn't impact purge operations though, afaik it's for the adjustable runner length valve in the plenum.

Codes eventually showing up after aux tank installation are not particularly rare. It’s possible you’d get more ideas posting in one of those threads instead of the SQOD thread. Things can get lost in this one. Now that I know you have an aux tank, I’d be surprised if any of the VSV or the PCV has failed.

Missing forward camera display at low speed

Help!!! I realise there is probably a really simple fix for this and I am going to kick myself but at the moment I am losing my mind…

Have a 2020 LC200, at low speeds in 4H the infotainment display would show the front camera view which was very handy for trails and town driving/parking. After a service, now I only get the Toyota ParkAssist graphic of the ultrasound sensor distances - and that’s only when close enough for them to ping.

The cameras all work fine as the 360 top-down display is there when I am in reverse and the front display works in 4L…

The service tech must have done something but I can’t figure out what…. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!! Canadian cities are not designed for big cars and getting around is a pig without the front camera.
