This is more of a “lazy question” than a “stupid question” so please forgive me. (Though it might be both)

Does anybody know if the jack that comes with our Land Cruisers will suffice if we have 34.5” tires and a 3” lift?
I wonder if it need a longer/taller jack.
And yes, I can easily figure this out - hence my opening admitting that I am being lazy. I’m hoping somebody here has already experimented and figured this out.
Lift is irrelevant, as you can jack from the axle. But you should be good with 35" tires to still jack from the axle in the rear and from the control arm in the front. That's how I do it. Obviously only good for one corner at a time.

Also, consider getting a LCP jack bracket for the rear axle. Makes things much more stable.
Piggybacking off this, does anyone have recommendations on a base or support system for the stock jack when offroad or somewhere not ideal? I've got the LCP adapter, im more so on the ground side.

On Amazon: Jack base and stabilizer

Bottle jack fits just fine.

HTH

Rear should be jacked from under the axle and it works fine

Front should be jacked at the frame. There is sufficient jack length to lift completely in my garage, so yes… but if you were not in level ground YMMV

Cool. Thanks, everybody.

And thanks for the suggestions of those add-ons for the jack.

Yes. I keep this and it's been handy on multiple occasions (friends cars) on soft surfaces. It gives a bit of height boost too for larger tires or ground depressions. Also has come in handy to roll-up on to level the vehicle for car camping.

I tried the hilift pad and found my factory jack seemed to deform it slightly, so I got an outrigger pad. In all candor I haven't tried the pad offroad yet, and I'm not thrilled that it doesn't have the opening of the hilift pad to contain the jack, but throwing it out as an option.

This is the one that I've eyed up, but I've yet to justify buying it.

I just tested my factory jack on my front driver tire.
I put a 3/4” board under the jack.
I was able to lift the tire off of my driveway by about half an inch before the jack topped-out.

And to correct my initial question; I had the wrong tire diameter. I actually have only 33.16”, not the 34.5” that I thought it had.

So it’s 33.16” tires and a 3” Ironman lift.

Half an inch is cutting it awfully close for my tastes.
I clearly need one of these jack-stands listed above.

Someone please help me with this light. I can’t get rid of it, checked fuses, nothing else seems wrong. Just came on and now won’t go away.

That’s easy. Just buckle your seatbelt.

For the other one, do you have a code reader or, better yet, techstream or live near someone who does?

Doesn’t one of the buttons we have match that symbol?
Perhaps you accidentally hit it?

You are correct, doesn’t do anything when pressed or pressed and held.
Sorry. I was hoping it would be an easy fix.

I constantly find odd lights lit on my dash because my dog hits random buttons…. randomly.

I was waiting for that response!

I have a code reader, didn’t show anything. Guess next step is techstream
Do you have a code reader that can read more than basic OBD2 codes? Pretty sure that’s the skid control light, so I’d assume your DTC is in that ECU. Unless it’s some other ECU failure that is disabling skid control. Either way, need techstream or a scanner that can read all the Toyota ECUs.

Mine is pretty basic so it didn’t show anything, figured auto part stores code readers might be better but that didn’t help either. Just have to hook up techstream next.

Either Carista or most any Bluetooth obd2 tool plus OBD Fusion can scan most/all the ECUs. Techstream would be most best, but the above options will probably get the code for you.

With OBD Fusion you have to buy extra “Toyota” pack and with Carista it’s a subscription model. Hardware is inexpensive. Good thing to have when off roading as it can be used to clear codes that may be disabling 4wd modes that Toyota likes to do.

Thanks, I think ultimately, I dont plan to do the work, so maybe I’ll take it to them and get their opinion, obviously they may just not be willing to even install it. My first attempt will be to see how difficult it is to get any “satisfaction” from FedEx/Impex. I’d probably rather have a used ring gear out of a 100 than a new one with a big chip in it.
@lx200inAR Any resolution?

Not really. I got Impex to refund some of the money. But probably just amounts to wasting $300 in the end. Not sure my plan now. Think I may try to get the rear parts from a 100, either that or spend the coin ordering the new gear set again from a US dealer.
