No clue if this has been asked before but how does the car know the location of each TPMS sensor? Especially when the tires are rotated.

PFM.

Can you guys tell me what TPMS sensors I need for the TRD Offroad wheels and my 08LX? Is this a conversation I should have with my local tire guy?

So far as I know, the wheels don't matter as long as they are Toyota/Lexus. Here's the Lexus part number

Im even more ignorant. I do believe it "polls" every 5 seconds no matter what. Should be no impact to longevity.
I think it’s 20 seconds, based on how long it takes to update when I’m airing up or down

@a200
I believe denso 20 degree, 433mhz.

I did say i was ignorant tho.

Double check that.
I’m fairly certain Toyota changed freq at the 2016 refresh, so might make sure you are accounting for that since Anymal has a 2016+. It’s the same sensor angle for any non steel wheel. So your current sensors (assuming you have them) will work in the new TRD wheels (whether RWs or BBS).

This is what worked on my 2010 LX570

Youre spare has probably never been replaced. That would be my guess. Its just older than the rest.
Check out that manuf date code while youre under there. It may be overdue.

I've been trying to figure out the date code for the tpms sensors I have. I've been searching online but haven't found a decoder yet. Anybody know what the code is?

I have a Continental(?) Redi-Sensor and a Toyota / Pacific Industrial tpms sensors.

Need some help on this one please. Drivers front ABS seems to kick in when even the slightest thing happens. My driveway is slightly above average steepness and when idling and my foot brake on, if I release and give average gas to go into the garage the ABS will kick in and start making "that" noise when ABS does its thing. ABS noise will stop 1-2 seconds later but every time.

With the snow we just had it "felt" like it was kicking on more than usual as well but this is my gut talking and I did have breakfast burritos today so not 100%. I guess the SQOD is does anybody else's ABS drivers front kick on when even the slightest abnormality happens? Should I look at replacing a particular item?

If there is another Mud forum better to post this question let me know and I can head there.

Have you done any suspension work, mods, or even alignment?

If nothing mechanically is amiss, sounds like you need to do a "zero point calibration" for accelerometers that the traction control references.

Was talking about the tire code. The sensors are not pricey though if its bugging you, just swap it.
You can have any shop clone the old one if youre not feeling like flashing things through OBDII.

Ah, sorry. I misunderstood. Actually, all 5 tires are 'new' as I'm doing a 5 tire rotation. The spare was old and it was the original stock p-metric tire. All tires are now A/T.

I bought the vehicle used; the tpms sensors may still have a good 7 years of life on them. A new sensor is about $90 each so for me, they are a bit pricey to replace if not necessary.

I bought the LC almost 2 years ago and had an existing Dobinson on it. The ABS issue has been prevalent since purchase. I put new rims/tires on it after purchase and also got it aligned at ToyTec. Even after alignment issue stayed. FWIW Kings are on order through Filthy so another alignment is in the near future. I never heard of this "zero point calibration" so will definitely look into this. Thank you!

edit: Your line of "Hating the premature traction control on and off-road" is exactly what happens. Off-roading is just terrible sometimes.

I would pick up a spare wheel speed sensor and swap it one at a time to see if one is just bad.

I think/hope you are right, because this is what I ordered earlier today. The forum seems to agree as long as they are not fakes.

You know this is the third or fourth time ive seen this come up…

Ive stated before my drivers is ALWAYS the first to break traction and start to ABS. It cant quite produce as much caster as the passenger side either. Never has. Prior to any mod or otherwise.
And this is on an AHC truck which doesnt sag on the heavy side. That I’ve also perfectly leveled…

There is something screwy with the lower control arm, and thats a WAG. Its there though, like a splinter in my mind.

Would anyone in a ‘17+ mind taking some photos of their KDSS Upper and Lower Stabilizer Control Adapters? Photo for reference:

So you want a photo of the red circled area? I can do that, but on mine those are covered in Fluid Film so you can't see much (any) detail. That ok?

Fluid film shouldn’t be an issue for my compare and contrast. I greatly appreciate it.

Are you familiar with the hill assist feature? I’m not sure what “above average steepness” means, but if you release the brake on a steep incline the hill assist will kick in and try to keep you in place for a few seconds….

For sure. I ordered a kit of 4 off eBay and they were fakes, but ordered one for spare off Amazon and it is legit. On the plus side, my fakes have been working fine for over 2 years now.
