I noticed very minor transmission temp changes when I changed to a steel bumper. I saw a much more significant increase from swapping to 4.88 gears. YMMV depending on the bumper of course.

Interesting. What did you re-gear to 4.88 from?

I assume these are
A) part of the kdss system
B) not supposed to look this shredded

is that correct? Anyone have part #’s?

Weird, thought I attached them. Here they are.

Those are the sway bat end links. Mine look similar after 120k miles. Probably wouldn’t hurt to replace them - I think they’re about $50 a piece - as they’re definitely worn but practically they’re still functional (even if the sway bar isn’t quite as stiff with that wear).

I presume it’s simple enough to just replace the bushing? If anyone reading this has a part number, let me know.

Easier just to replace the whole sway bar end link.

I don’t think you can source just the bushings. You’ll need the whole end link. Like I said they’re about $50 per side so not terribly expensive

I did a quick search and did not find anything. What are the service intervals for brake fluid, power steering fluid, diff, transmission and any other fluids that I have not thought about other than oil of course.

Most service schedules in the interwebz do not address this. I have a 2000, 2014 and 2016 LC.

Thanks in advance.

This info should be in the Warranty and Maintenance guide next to the manual in your glove box. You can also download this guide from the Toyota owners website

Thanks. I have looked closely at the Warranty and Maintenance Guide. Unless you drive dirty dusty roads, have a car top carrier or do heavy towing there are no specs.

In addition, they do not address things like coolant, power steering fluid or brake fluid. Surprisingly, they also neglect basic transmission fluid guidelines.

Looks like it goes in between the cup holders to keep them upright.

Can you please post a photo of your cup holders between driver and passenger seats?
OK but I don't see how...here's my cup holder with the removable insert:

Coolant is 120k IIRC. Or maybe 100k.

Brake fluid isn't listed but you can either buy some test strips to check it once a year, or my preference is just to have a shop do a brake fluid flush every 3-4 years or whenever the brakes are replaced, whatever comes first.

I'm not sure about the power steering fluid but Toyota specs the transmission fluid as "lifetime" unless you fall into that "heavy use" category you listed. They do say "inspect" but I'm not sure how you actually do that without draining a bit off and sending it to Blackstone for an oil analysis as color is not a good indicator. I suppose you could go by the "burnt smell = bad" but if your transmission fluid is burned how long have you been driving like that?

Honestly I believe even mall crawlers should have all their fluids swapped every 10 years/120k miles (if not sooner as recommended in the manual). I'm sure someone will flame me about how Toyota engineers know best, but the preventative maintenance cost to do everything is so low as compared to the cost to replace a failed component.

Are all of you finding them on the front passenger floor?
I just checked on my 09 LX and there is nothing that even remotely looks like that under the dash, above the lower dash panel or under the seat. Maybe mine was long gone before I got the SUV.

I saw it when I first got the LC and forgot about it, simply leaving it in the glove box where I found it. It's now become a "thing" and it's keeping me up at night.

I MUST KNOW WHAT IT IS FOR!!!
