Why not just take to an independent? The dealership obviously is clueless.
Doesn't know many independent to trust in his area. ACC is the only one I know of and they were booked out a couple months when he talked to them.

Need help: encountered the no-start issue last night after work. 2008 LX570 114K, it’s stuck in my work parking lot about 2 miles from home, is there any way I can get it home without a tow?

since it’s the SQOD thread, are you sure it’s not the battery?

First thing to check would be the battery. If its over 3 years old it likely needs to be replaced and could be the culprit. Check voltage of the battery and try a jump start.

Any dome lights left on? I left my seat warmers on When i was detailing the interior and it killed a 2 year old battery.

Other issue could be the starter. Your 200s age and mileage is getting up there where starter failurer becomes more common.

battery is <1 year old. dealer quoted $700 for the starter otd, and they'll do it today, so I let them have it. Thanks for the tips fellas!

I’m picking up a 2021 tomorrow in Idaho, then driving it back down to Utah where there’s a lot of road salt. I plan on DIY fluid filming underneath before the drive.

Are these cruisers tall enough to crawl under as-is, or do you think I’d need to get it up on ramps or on a lift?

you'll be pretty darn cramped under there unless you can put it in AHC high, lift or ramps would still be preferable

Ramps. That extra height helps when spraying Fluid Film. If you're slim you might be fine without ramps

@Sandroad On my '16 there is a little lever that allows the back of the center to fold down. Did they remove this on the '17?

That’s what I was shooting for. Moving the backing for the second row armrest down. I’ve seen photos of it on this site, but wasn’t sure if was only prior years. I checked the manual (thanks for the link!), but didn’t see anything mentioned. It’s odd the it is split from the 60 section of the 60/40 second row if it can fold down.

A few months ago while driving (2008 LC) I received the "Check Tire Pressure System" warning. Manually checked pressures, which were all fine. Message went away, then returned, then went away. I took it to the dealership and they told me "your tire pressure was low. It's fine."
Then last week warning returned. Manually checked pressures were normal. Warning spontaneously disappeared again. Is this likely a bad sensor or sensors, or is there another known problem that could do this? Time to replace all 5 sensors? Thanks.

Are they the original sensors? One or more of the batteries could be going out causing intermittent connection to the TMPS system. I think normal life is 7-10 years.

I haven't looked in the LC settings yet, but on my Mercedes, there was a place in the menu system where you could tell it to set the current tire pressure as the reference level. If this was done with the pressure set to 35 and the pressure on a tire drops to (for example) 32, the warning will go on, even if 32 is still considered an acceptable level because it was told that 35 is the target number and it allows a few psi variance either way (so if the allowed variance is 4 psi, the pressure would have to drop below 31). So it could be a result of outside temperature changes affecting the pressure reading, a low battery in one or more sensors, a defective sensor, or it could just be that you need to reset the reference level that the system is watching for.

Stupid question here.... Has anyone experienced a "heavy" or "stiff" gear shifter? Got back to the house today and went to put it in park and noticed that the moving the shifter from D to P was exceptionally heavy/stiff. If it matters, I did have my center diff locked for a bit today on some mud/gravel, and noticed that the shifter was incredibly heavy after using it. Looking back on it, I think this happened to me once before after having the center diff locked, but it went away after a couple cycles through. Any ideas on why that would be the case? Its not stuck, the center diff is unlocked (no issues locking/locking), but cycling through P-N-D is super heavy.
