And my second stupid question for the day, how do you get the vehicle to lock the doors when moving above a certain speed and unlock when back in park?

I have a Japanese import vehicle, so the nav is not in English.

Just need help with this stupid question.

Just need help with this stupid question.

It is accomplished using the vehicle customization options on the NAV screen.

First step: Am I correct in assuming your NAV screen is NOT in English and you are NOT fluent in Japanese?

^^ Yeah, I would think that THIS would be the first "stupid" question... although not so stupid!

I'm just trying to confirm what was posted earlier:

One could argue, I guess, that I should already know the answer, but I'm just making sure before I take a bunch of pictures ...

Yes, the NAV screen is in Japanese. Pictures will be of a lot of help, thanks.

OK, here are pics that should guide you through the customization process for the features you want.

First, turn the Ignition ON - that's 2 presses of the Start/Stop button with your foot OFF the brake.

Press the SETUP hard button to the left of the NAV screen and select the VEHICLE option:

Select the VEHICLE CUSTOMIZATION option:

Select the DOOR LOCK SETTINGS option:

This will bring up a screen with several options:

LC200Custom4_30SEP16_zps4ko3awwh.jpg

These options are toggled ON or OFF to enable/disable the function.

Toggle AUTO LOCK BY SPEED to ON and the doors will lock when moving above a certain speed.

Toggle AUTO UNLOCK BY SHIFT TO P to ON and the doors will unlock when the vehicle is put back in Park.

When done, be sure to press SAVE in the lower right of the screen to save and enable your changes.

That takes care of your specific request, but FYI there are other options available if you scroll down the last screen shown above. Here is what you see by scrolling down one screen:

And by scrolling down one more screen:

None of these options have the possibility to induce a "fatal" error or are irreversible, so feel free to play around with them to get the various features to work the way you wish.

If you have any more questions, just post them up and we'll do our best to get you answers.

My nav unit is in Japanese, I can't even use the navigation here in Pakistan. Atleast I figured how BT audio works.

Get the Google Translate app on your phone. It accesses your phone camera and when you hold it up to the text written in a different language, it converts it to the language you can read. Super simple and extremely handy.

Is it possible to add automatic rain sensing wipers to a 2009 LC? Or does the 2013 have a different windshield? I see the black marks in the middle of the windshield that look like the rain sensor (could be mistaken)?

Those are wiper heaters IIRC

Yesterday I noticed corrosion around my battery terminals / posts, which I cleaned off prior to the Ouray trip / August - any idea what causes that to build up? is it natural or something maybe I have introduced by mistake?
thanks

So when I went to hang my gas cap on the gas door the above pictured clip fell out. Any idea what it is or where it goes?

I think it is the spring that pops the cap open when you pull the release lever.

Correct.

Here it is properly installed on the inside of the gas cap:

And a closer shot showing how it snaps into place:

I think that little clip's purpose is as a "spring" of sorts...so that when you pull the release...the fuel door pops open enough that you can open it. Otherwise, at the door would just stay closed...even though you pull the release...because there would be no spring to push it out a bit. So you might need to have someone ready to pull it open when you pull the release when you open it again to put the clip back in place.

Thanks guys, I'll take a look at it and hope that it simply pops back in.
