Anyone know what this thing does? It's got a wire like a mass air flow sensor, but is connected to a hollow tube and goes to the small vents by your right knee. Noise canceller or something? Never seen anything like it before.

@Markuson is spot on from what I can see from the above link.
Wow, that's awesome. Total other issues I had in the back of my mind was it wasn't feeling like the auto temp was very accuarate.

That wire in mine was completely covered and plugged tight with dust/lint from the previous owner. So I sprayed it out with MAF cleaner to free everything. I hope that was it issue.

Thanks guys, had no idea and I think you just fix a problem for me. I'll let you know how it works out.

After removing my third row seats ...

At the passenger side floor seat mounting location, I found this white ventilated plug:

Anybody know what it is for?

TIA

Could that be the place-holder for the LX version's wiring for powered seat raise/lowering?

Good guess, but if that was it, wouldn't there be one on each side? Also, it is a pretty sophisticated looking part just to be a placeholder - it has cross-hatched vent-like structures, a rubber gasket and a pull-tab looking appendage. I think it's something else :(

Maybe another temperature sensor? Those seem to be popping up lately on mud... ;)

Here are two more pics that might give someone a clue:

Drain plug....ha

They do IIRC. Check the "what have you done this week" forum where codyaustin5 did this recently.

edit - post #3097: What have you done to your 200 Series this week?

read through the posts following and you'll see the links/sources to confirm if you are looking at the same product

Has anyone replaced the struts for the rear hatch in their 200 yet? I searched and did not find anything. Just curious how much of a pain it might be.

I have not, but I know that if it is similar to the 100, it should be a 15 minute job. You will just need someone to help hold the hatch up while you change them out.

A vise-grip or similar on one of the struts you're replacing works fine. You'll have enough lift with one of the new ones installed that the second new one goes in easily, with only two hands.

A proper length 2x4 can work as well, and you won't have to buy it a beer for its trouble

Leverage is a beautiful thing. Sometimes I just love physics. It's like the world suddenly makes sense again. :)
