wondering if anyone has the sprung and unsprung weight of a fj40 doing coilovers and am not able to move the rig at this time, im running a SBC350 sm420 and cruiser case and cruiser axles. any ideas? thanks!!

New stock would have been about 4,000lbs soft top, and 4,400lbs hard top. Your V8 is about 250lbs lighter than the old engine, but you may have added more than that difference with other mods?

well i know it weighs around 4500 roughly. what i rally need to know is what it weighs from the doors forward.

well i guess thats one way to look at it, i just thought maybe just maybe somone has put coilovers on a 40 before. at 75 bucks a spring i was really trying to not guess hence why im here

Who are you purchasing your coil over shocks from?

F-O-A got the shocks back in November, they have the calculater but i dont have the weight:mad:

IIRC original curb weight was 3300. Figure about 200 per axle plus tires so maybe 600 unsprung and 3000 sprung. I'm guessing reduction in weight of drive train offset by fluids, gear and driver. Maybe as much as 3500 sprung.

its actually the fj45 in the avatar but the front of it is all the same as a 40 so i figured it would be easier to say 40:D
