Hi everyone. I'm thinking of putting a 1inch spring spacer all around on a stock suspension. Do I need to change something else or up grade like in steering parts, etc. Or I can just stay stock with just an inch lift.

Thanks :)

You don't need to change anything else.

my 93 has 250K on it so I swapped on some newer used springs and then cut out steel spacers for all four corners. I had a bunch of 5/8 thick stuff sitting around so the rear only got a 5/8" ring and the front recieved 1.2". It leveled her out a little and will allow me to clear the tires I want until the $ comes in for new springs.

Todd,
Looking at your spacer pack, is the top spacer the elastomer ones found on man-a-fre? What is the lower spacer made of? Are they both rubber/elastomer?

I would like to add about 1 inch of spacer in the front to level her out.

OME spacers installed by the previous owner. I'm not hip to plastics.... :)

Hey Cruisin, what spacers are you planning on using in the rear? I don't know of alot of spacers which fit the rear. Oh and 1"?? You need more lift!! :flipoff2:

I was thinking of trying those srew type spacers for the rear. :D Yea just an inch with 285 tires. It'll be more on road LC.

You talking about the kind that goes in between the coils?

I wouldn't run anything unless it's between the spring and it's perch/mount/cup/whateveryouwannacallit. Even if it's on the road only.

I would like to know as well-is there nothing like the Mr Gasket front spacers for the rear of an 80?
(slees are nice, but by the time you get front and rear, might as well get a lift)

My 80 will is 90/10 road/dirt and I would like a little cheap room.

(I'd rather dump money into an SOA on the 40 than OME on the 80)

We always discourage this. The stock suspension is soft, so adding spacers puts the truck higher and make it handle even worse. 1" might be ok, but if you go more, I would rather do a suspension. If you are tight on money, at least do the springs and then add the shocks later. Or just get the replacement springs.

I was thinking of the other way around. Spacers on stock springs and then upgrade the shocks. Would that be close?
