Any of you guys feel like an offroading trip before the semster is over......... I have finally thawed out from the Tellico trip and our snow run, SO I am ready to take a more weather friendly trip in the 40 now that it is above 32F for good

I would like to take a weekend trip to Tellico again if any one is up for it either sometime before exams or right after, I won't be able to make GSMTR nor will the rest of the MAFIA, what do you guys think??? up for some wheeling, camping, and some fresh mountain air???????

Gehn you know you need some more character/dents on that 60, chuck that 40 is begging to be wheeled, and Rudnicki yours needs to break beyond the confines of Charissa Dr.............

Do it, Do it..................................

I would be up for it depending when it is. Got projects in studio and hort going on so I have to work around them. Also need to ad all my purchases from GA and make sure she can handle the trip.

That is what I was thinking too Alex, there are some good camp sites on the river where trail 5 crosses it........... yeah the general plan would be leave midday friday and get there friday evening, maybe squeeze in a dusk/night run then wheel all day Sat come back either that evening or sunday morining

Me and richard where thinking the 3rd weekend in april..........

We can also stay closer to home. I like the snow trail we did. It would be a challenge to see how for we can follow the power lines and camp out where ever we want to stop. The cool thing about this is that we would have an objective, or destination. We can spend more time on the trail instead of traveling the roads to get there (Tellico).

I can see us now...a long convoy meandering through peoples back yards. Hey...those trails we wnet on were pretty challenging, fellas!

I like that idea Alex I said to JP the last time we were up there we should just see how far we could drive once I got my pig out there and just camp on the way.

I am down for that trip as well.............but I need some Tellico, I had a blast up there in January and I have been missing it ever since. It's not a bad trip up there seems it took us about 3.5 hours to get there

Alex have you wheeled at Tellico?

Dude, Alex is a Tellico vet. In a 62 and a 40.
Hehe..... GSMTR vet as well.

I like the local camping thing. That sounds like fun to me.
Mountain Estates, know locally as The Widowmaker, could
be a blast! I haven't been camping in what seems like years.
I'm up for an overnighter but with GSMTR so close I can't
see my old worn out butt making that trip twice in a 40
so close together.

I want pictures of that 40 on lower OR upper 2, JP.
I understand missing Upper Tellico. 100s of Cruisers
all together has to be seen to understand it.
Dang I wish school didn't conflict with GSMTR.

School doesnt conflict with GSMTR its more like work for the summer to make some money. Unless summer school is started up by then. You better drive up the trail some though Gundy I heard you turned that blue demon around pretty early last time.

well it seems a local trip to mountain estates is in hand, There is the perfect place to camp right up on top of the steep power line hill climb it has a nice flat area on top and a killer view of the Blue Wall to the north........ be a great place to sit by the fire under a star filled sky, surrounded by cruisers, mmmmmmm couldn't be much better than that, oh oh don't forget some cold beverages.................

....................LETS DO IT.......................

David you will have to let Cpt. Jim know, he seemed like he really wanted to try to make it to his place via those powelines.......

wuss alert!

LOL....see, I always had to do summer school,
except in high school. Worked year round too.
I understand the need for work to make some dough.
Good fortune be upon you my friend.

As for Gundy turning around.....you betcha pal.
The old timers will tell you I'm a weenie wheeler.
Little tires, no lift and even less courage. I know my
place and own it. Gundy is what it is.....old trusty
stocker with few doo dads.
I cringe at mole hills as you'll see soon enough.

Good idea JP! I'll e-mail members and see if we can get any input.
I'll link this thread.

Wuss Alert!!!

Alright, fellas... We have to motivate in a positive way here (although that was funny as s**t, Gundy) LOL

Brother I understand your $$ situation. But, if we do it on a weekend maybe you will not lose that much income. Ask yourself: Is the money I would miss worth being out "this one time" with my mafia comrades under a clear night sky? I think the old guys (like Gundy and me) would make a GO at it.

Please reconsider, Clemson 55. I'm confident we'll have one of those "once in a lifetime" adventure.

I will be in the Cashier's NC around Memorial Day weekend if anyone is up for some wheeling close by. I don't personally know of any trails but would love to find some as my in-laws have a place in Sapphire Valley.

The power line trails sound interesting. Any legal issues with these trails?

I will also be at GSMTR but not until Thursday evening. Camping with the crazed Leaky Seals.

There may be some legal issues with the powerlines but probably more if you were tampering with them or something. The trail out there is heavily traveled and I never heard of anyone getting in trouble over it.

Alex I'm up for the camping and wheeling the power lines for sure I supported your idea of doing that. I just cant do GSMTR. It will only be like the second or third week of my internship and I cant go asking off for a day that early. Besides the drive from Conway to Clemson to get the cruiser would be bad enough not to mention the drive up to Tellico in my 3spd cruiser.

This all sounds fun and I would love to go but I have to put about 1500 in the 62 for her to be Mtn. Estates ready. There is alot of work to be done before she gets a taste. Its just so sad not being able to go out and play. Hopefully It will be worth the wait in the end.

My goal is to have her ready for next years GSMTR. I've even been looking at going out to Moab, if not next year the year after that. Well I look foward to seeing everyone at the next meeting.
