speedo rebuild/is it screwed?

Howdy,
I was pulling my speedo/odo to rebuild and relube it due to vibrations last time it worked. now as you can see in the pictures ( hopefully ) there is a little copper wire thats used to be wound?? it is now broken wound tight around the shaft and the shaft is not seated in where the needles goes, is this still fixable or is it time for a new one?? If so pm me.

I dig your table cloth! Check the speedo cable, they are known for vibration, clicking, and other chenanigans.
 
Yes I plan on cleaning the cable but what about the small copper wire and the shaft on being in place?

edit: hippe table cloth :)

Well in taking this thing further apart I found out that the plactic gear is stripped:mad: on top of the copper spring/wire is broke:rolleyes:
well atleast I now know
