well, I'll have to go back and check but from memory the washer is considered the gasket and the seat of the spark plug is what it rests against. So that would make them an ISO plug.

I wanted to consider all options on what plugs to try and while the 3330s are a known good plug I really wanted something that would last longer. I almost went with an Iridium but they aren't gap-able so it was a Platinum.

edit: found the diagrams

That's the diagram that is too confusing to conclude anything at least for me. Here is the diagram defining "seat" on their own site. Its pretty clear, at least for me, that the washer is the seat. Either which way (ISO or JIS) it'll work. I'd still suggest something in Iridium over Platinum though.

just got my ISO plugs and first thing I did was to measure them. Tip to underside of the gasket is 53mm, which matches up with George's measurements of his original ones.

Just getting back to this, So the washer is the "seat" then. What plug did you decide on after all the research?

Hi guys, any final recommendation for a 1FZ-FE with a stock TRD S/C?

Thanks

I just wanted to revive this thread to get an update on how people are progressing with the plug changes in their turbo and SC]d 80s cruisers.

Any feedback on what plugs you ended up running any gains or issues with them would be much appreciated.

By the way, I'm looking for the appropriate plug to run in my turbo'd 1FZFE with a comp ratio drop to 8.37:1. Planning on about 15psi boost.
