Need some help here - I picked up a sweet welded spare tire carrier for my old Land Cruiser a couple of years ago from someone or a vendor here and can not for the life of me remember who or where I got it - it was one that was a flat piece of steel with a tube that angled up , allowing for a ratchet strap to be looped around the tire and tightened up - Ive tired searching ,but ,have come up empty handed. Anyone know who makes these ? ive sold my Cruiser and now have an old Ram Charger and I want to go this route for it like I did in the Cruiser.

Ramchargers rock when compared to a blazer or bronco, that’s what I had before I made the plunge into the 80 series abyss. I had that 1978 Ramcharger for 15 years. It was dead reliable but too wide for many of the trails where I wheel most, so the sides were pulverized.

Good luck with it and if you haven’t already, check out a site/forum called ramchargercentral.com.

Thanks baldilocks - I dig it thus far , its been a nightmare trying to fix electrical issues ( mainly due to people who shouldn't be working on stuff working on it ) but , its fun and pretty easy other wise -

We recently made some positive changes to our Interior Tire carrier not shown on our site.

Now our carrier will work without a Puma mount. You will need to drill 2 holes in the floor
The carrier now only adds 1/2" to the width of the tire and none front to rear. By far taking up the least amount of room of any carrier
The carrier can be used on either side
The carrier can be mounted in any vehicle, just needs a flat surface and drill some holes.

Our carrier has been roll over and end over end tested with zero damage and reinstalled on the customers new 80.
We still make custom width carriers at no addition cost. A short waiting time is needed.

Any pics of the new carrier? I will be ordering one soon.

Solid changes Phil. That addresses the 2 issues I had with the carrier. Hopefully placing an order in 2 months when the rest of the stuff I just bought is paid for

We welcome customer feedback, curious on your 2 previous issues?

I wanted no PUMA mount since I'm going a different route for air and I wanted pass side mounting to offset me on the drivers side, although I'm pretty sure I outweigh the tire and carrier.

One carrier in stock with more on the way.

We will be in Baja LCP product testing from March 9 - 16 so no shipping during those dates
Aka shammy tax writeoff trip?

Then you will also like our Land Cruiser Products Turbo charged, low mileage 80 series test vehicle waiting for something special:flipoff2:

With the carrier and a 315/75/16 tire mounted inside the 80, how many horizontal inches are available to the side? Trying to figure which size cooler will fit if I use an interior carrier.

Tire carrier fits tight to the fender well and measures 12.5" overall width. If you find a used one our 1st gen are ~5/8" wider.
