Dammit if that doesn't look bad ass though, wow, what a setup!
It’s crazy how good it looks lol. The 275/70s just looked way too small with the new lift. Honestly, even though I really wanted 34s I’m pretty happy with these and will probably stick with this size.

You gonna trim the rear bumper or replace it?
Ultimately it’s getting a kaymar or a custom built high clearance bumper with a swing out. For now it’s going to get cut. I’ve just been lazy about it. Every time I look at it I see how horrible it looks with stock rear bumper. I hear it whisper “drink a few beers and fire up the dremel”.

The bumpers on the market now just sit so low and I’m not 100% happy with any of them. The kaymar checks off most of my wants, but still isn’t perfect. Maybe I can find a good welder to make me exactly what I want.

Trimmed some plastic today. Tires are closer to the body mount than I expected, but I wasn’t surprised. I’ll probably end up trimming some more, but it should stop a majority of the rub.

Yea, you're probably going to get some rubbing going in and out steep driveways unless you go real slow.

After seeing this gx posted on Instagram today I’m definitely cutting the rear bumper soon. I kept going back and forth on it due to the fact that I love going fast down dirt roads and I hit some deep water crossings when I get the chance and didn’t want to have issues with damaging the wiring underneath. I’ve decided that if I have issues I’ll just turn off the parking assist and fix it when I get a bumper later this year. It also makes me regret not getting the 285/75s, but that’s easily remedied in the future.

I guarantee you he has some rub in the front with those meats. Definitely cut it, I've been telling you that for months now lol.

Yeah I would definitely need a bmc, but that’s getting done soon. I’m taking the dremel with me to the meet up in Houston Sunday so it’ll probably get done then lol.

You ever have one of those days that you plan on working on the GX all day and getting a bunch of stuff done, but then Mother Nature forces you to put it off? Every day I’m off has been that way for the past few weeks. Went to Lowe’s to get more cutting disks this morning to cut the rear bumper and it was pouring rain when I walked out so I went for a drive.

Found a county road the hasn’t had much traffic recently.

I took the sign as a challenge, but the odds weren’t in my favor.

Ended up driving some roads that wind through some local ranch land.

Then the rain hit so I headed home. At least I have a good reason to wash it I guess😂.

Installed the Expedition Essentials track mount bracket a few days ago along with the TackForm Tomahawk phone holder. The only reason I didn’t go with the Ram mount is that I’ve heard that it has a tendency to hit the lock and volume buttons. I like it so far, but of course I messed up the install by drilling the lower holes slightly off center lol. It’ll work for now and is still very sturdy.

Also, after saying I was going to do it for months, I finally chopped the rear bumper. I went a little higher than I should’ve, but it looks pretty good and that’s what overlanding is all about, right? Definitely need to order the magnaflow exhaust very soon. Trimmed the mud flaps and tucked the wires. I might get some better pics tomorrow or Wednesday.

If I can get ahold of a cordless driver tomorrow or Wednesday I’ll throw in the goose gear base. After that I’m out of mods that I have laying around so I’ll probably order a few small things. Need to get a jack. I’m pretty sure I’m going with the arb. I know it doesn’t do as much as a hi lift, but the safety of it alone is worth it to me.

What the side look like with that bumper cut? From the back it looks ok to me.

It looks pretty good. I had to trim the bottom off the two outer parking sensors and pull the wiring harness off the brackets on the side and tuck them up higher with some zip ties. I’m gonna get some pics tomorrow of how it looks from the side.

I'll be out of town next weekend as well lol.
