.... Gotta start shopping around for new shocks as well. Oof, next big expense.
Unless the shocks are rusted through, or leaking badly, there is no need for new ones. Even leaks seem to disappear when you get the pressures under control.

Yeah that's a common misconception about the AHC...the globes are the shocks.
Surely. I know that the globes regulate the fluid pressure but I still think of the shocks in the conventional way. Lol. I look forward to getting these new ones in to stabilize the car. I've been avoiding offroading until I get the AHC sustenance up to snuff.

A few here have replaced the bushings (which are dirt cheap) on the AHC shocks.

That is my experience. I noticed some minor seepage, and adjusted the pressures back to within spec. The shocks are bone dry again.

Just ordered 4 new globes from Impex for my 2000 LX. We're in the processing stage. Curious to see how long this takes to ship to California.

While I'm in there I plan to also remove the front shock / actuators and replace lower and upper bushings. Does anyone have part numbers on hand for these?

Anything else I should replace while I'm in there to help bring the ride back to factory settings?

I've heard the rear shock / actuators are not fun to remove so I'll probably just leave the old rubber in those

Rear shocks are a royal pain to remove. Most seem to end up cutting a hole from the trunk to get to them.

If you've haven't updated your rear springs, the old OEM ones are probably tired out. I went with the upgraded King springs from Australia for more load capacity, you may also benefit from that with a rooftop tent. New OEM springs would be an upgrade as well though.

Re: shipping times, I ordered globes from impex on 2/3. Arrived today.

good to know. My order was placed on 2/14 and last I checked it was still "processing" on their website. Now their site is down for maintenance so now I'm a bit in the dark.

Riffman I'm in a similar position to you although this would be my third order from impex

They reported everything in their warehouse one week ago, I chased on Monday, they replied saying they are exceptionally busy but will send it out soonest.

Their website has been down for 36 hours now for me.

I am quite nervous as they have $1800 of paid for parts of mine. I'm not expecting any problems but websites down for maintenance do make me unsure.

In contrast amayama just shipped $400 of parts no problem!

Looks like the site is back up now. I logged in and my package was ready to ship so I selected shipping and they should be on their way shortly.

I wonder if it has Russian ownership? I get bounced from Japanese to Russian pages.

FYI, Impex currently down to about $650 shipped for 4 globes with the current exchange rates. Was on the fence, but going to go for it at that price. Gotta spend money to save money.

The site seems to be active now, but the employees have Russian names so there might be something there. Definitely a Japanese company operating out of Japan, but Russian folks working there. 🤷

@LndXrsr Let us know if your order goes through as expected!

They just confirmed my shipping costs tonight and packaged it up, which is why I posted. Anticipating it should go through.

I just ordered them, $544 for 4 globes (2F and 2R). Plus VAT...(Including some type of VAT?).

So, $544 is what the credit card transaction showed up as so it did include the VAT, when it should have only been $504, and $104 Fedex so far.

Update: So $648 was my total.

I used paypal for the parts purchase, then paid credit card for the shipping.

Took almost 4 business days (Ordered Friday 4/1) to get the email telling me "Your order has arrived at our warehouse, You can either make shipment instructions delivered item(s) right now, or wait for other items to be delivered to our warehouse."

Just received the globes today (4/13 at 2pm) The shipment was inspected by US customs, they opened the box and one of the globe boxes. No additional customs fees.

I do wish there was a cheaper shipping option. Once they shipped it was delivered 2 days later, I don’t always need things so quickly!

The box was very well packed.

Edit 2: globes installed. Did upper cushions and lower bushings at the same time including sway bar bushings. Super nice and cushy! Even my wife said it’s like riding in a cloud!!

Just ordered 4 @ $542. Waiting on shipping. Will update.
Got shipping confirmation today. Total shipping was $110.76, $542.80 for the globes for a total of 653.56. No eta yet, just a FedEx tracking number.

I would recommend you wait until you get a final shipping number. When I got the email saying the parts arrived at the warehouse I logged in and paid for shipping immediately. Then the next day got an email that the shipping weight had increased so there was now an unpaid balance ($2.77) on my account, which required I log back in and pay a bit more. Not sure if that added a delay or not, just an FYI.

Seems typically of their system no matter how you pay.

Mine arrived earlier this week. Shipped almost as fast as domestic. Hell of a deal for $650 shipped.
