Source For One Piston And Ring Set?

I have one bad piston I need to replace. It looks like nobody sells pistons and rings seperately, not in a set of six? If anybody has a source please let me know.

If you are going to all that work why not replace them all. Whats to say that the other 5 aren't close to being bad?

All the other cylinders have more than 140lbs compression, the top of the #1 piston is beat up, looks like something got into the cylinder. I don't want do a total rebuild, w/machine work and everything if I can get a few more miles out this mill.

I would ask on here for a used stock piston. there are plenty of engines that have been rebuilt & overbored because of a few scuffed cylinders, but have good pistons in other cylinders. Hopefully somebody has kept one of these leftover stock pistons.

Pistons are actually sold separately and you can get single cylinder ring sets. I broke a ring (Duh!) when I was stuffing the cylinders and had to go find a single set. A local machinist helped me out, I belive they were sealed power ring sets.

Pighead has a milkcrate full of old pistons. I bet we could find a serviceable used replacement for you. Cheap too...

x2 on replacing the whole set. Consider the additional expense an insurance policy against doing the job twice!
