I am prepping to get new front seat covers from Cruiser Corps to replace the SOR ones that haven't held up as expected (for the $$$). So, many moons ago I installed the SOR replacements without issue and the hog ring pliers I used have since gone into hiding. Needing a new pair, I see there are bent ones and straight ones available. I believe I used a straight set previously, but just out of curiosity, is a bent one better for the task?

Thanks. That is very nice. I can appreciate the quality of those pliers but in my case, I can’t justify the expense. A budget pair will satisfy my limited use. For the record though, they are straight, not bent.

Bent can be better in some harder to reach spots. I have an inexpensive set of straight and bent; when I did my 60 seats I think I only used the straight.

The Harbor Freight hog ring pliers work well for the casual user. Heck, I used vise-grips for years before I splurged on a pair of hog ring pliers.

If you purchase Knipex from Amazon, make sure you go to their store on Amazon directly to ensure you are not getting a knock-off. Trail Tailor's link is good as you see a link to their store in the listing. Amazon is rife with knock offs now for items like this so make sure you do your due diligence.

Cheers, James
