Will anyone be there in a 100 or 80 series that is stock or mostly stock? If so I would like to test drive it, if you do not mind. We are considering both and I havent had a chance to go somewhere to test drive either.

Thanks and look forward to seeing everyone!

Matt,

I may be going but I am not sure at the moment; I may have to work. If I do make it, you are welcome to take the 80 for a spin. (You'll want an 80 anyways:grinpimp: )

Travis,

Thanks for the heads up. Its for the wife and kids. (But I will definately drive it when I can :) ) SO comfort and room are the biggest issues at this point. Finding an 80 with low miles (that they dont want a mint for) might end up being an issue as well if we go tht route.

Thanks again and hope you can make it!

You'll be able to find pretty much anything you want (mileage, year, series, color, options, etc.) if you have time on your side. Resale values on 80's and 100's are plummeting daily so time is an advantage there as well.

The 80 is comfy and has more creature comforts than your 62 but the 100 ups the ante way past the 80. It all comes down to what you'll be using it for, what you need and personal preference. Right now it looks like - wife / kid hauler with room and comfort. Both the 80 and 100 fit the bill but you'll be surprised in the difference between the 2. The really are 2 different animals in many ways.

The other thing to consider is the cost of operation. Something you may not know (and I've always had a hard time believing) but the 80 is more expensive to insure than the 100 (same level of coverage). Also, 80's take lower octane / cheaper gas than 100's, timing belt vs timing chain, etc.

Good luck on the search and let me know if I can help - there are always a good number of 80's and 100's up this way.

Change of plans

Coach is staying home. Gundy will be providing my
transportation. He wants see the whipper snapper youngster
first hand. Size 'em up so to speak.
See ya'll there.

post script:

That is a pretty cool truck. Kudos to Ralph Hayes Toyota for making this happen.
Robert brought HIS personal Titanium Metallic FJ Cruiser for test drives.
It turns out the local Mustang club was there too. One side of Sonic was
solid walls of Cruisers and the other packed with 'Stangs. They viewed
the Clan of Cruisers with a certain awe. No rumble broke out. :grinpimp:
I overheard one pony tell another that those cruisers cost about $65K. :grinpimp:
It was a nice group. Wagons, 4 Runner and 40s. SOA to stock. Young and old,
for both Cruiserheads and trucks. A fine family.
Pony jaws dropped when they heard the FJC was about $32K.
I'm betting a couple of FJC got sold last night. :)
The FJC drives very nice. I'd like one for a DD. It was 'yota tight and solid.
No surprize there. Fit and trim were excellent.
The blind spot is a minor issue when backing. It's a bit Spartan inside which I liked.
Certainly not a luxo ride. I liked that too.
Peppy, but no screamer. TRD supercharger would fix that but it was fine as is.
Small inexpensive lift and some 35s would make it a LOT more appealing to
me. We want one.
