I think about only half of the picture uploaded last night. I put the computer to sleep and went to bed before they were all up. I'm seeing a little over eight hundred, and there should be over fifteen hundred on there. I'm not going home tonight, so it'll be friday sometime before they are actually all up.

No apologies needed Mike. You were a welcomed surprise. Was awesome hanging out with you. Wish you could have stayed longer. Drennan @drenmaster , Randy and I made it to the top of Hunchback mountain. My knees are still reminding me 4 days later. You can see our campsite down at the lake. Only issue is your bad a** 60 is not in the pic

How many days till registration for the 2024 event?
Somehow I missed registration and it was full before I realized, need to set a reminder for 2024!!!!
I am finally getting the time to say thank you to all the great people that made this event great. This was my first time attending and seeing the area. I had Jimmy lead me all week, even took me to some rocks that I could climb and flop my 40 over, then was there to pull be back on the tires again! LOL! Coop, towed me a short bit when my wire harness grounded out and blew the fuel pump fuse, only took two fuses to find it, so not a big deal. Chris feed me from his Sandwich shop in the back of his 100, and the smiling ladies at the registration booth took my money for raffle prizes! For those that have not been, for me it was worth the 2,000 mile plus drive.
Cheers go out to the Does Gringos for their hospitality and spotting during the week, I feel that I made some new friends and saw a few that I knew. I hope to be able to make it back out again one day.

I thought next year’s dates were Aug 5 - Aug 9 (Mon- Fri)…. Am I off by a week?
Patience is a virtue.
Cautiously optimistic I waited for a proper social media post about SAS until I got home successfully. The FJ55 “Los Lobos" or "Oinky" did an amazing job on this trip. Literally the first few hundred miles put on this 55 that recently sat since 2011. Ran trails 2 of the days and the rest of the time just putted around the gorgeous surrounding areas. Something we both needed was easing into things and soak in the surroundings. A old co worker upon their retirement celebration had a very simple saying to share "play along the way". Meaning take vacations, disconnect, and reconnect all of those things SAS brought to the table. A very large thank you to the board of directors of SAS, the sponsors, and lastly all the participants. Walking through camp you can see how much energy is poured into making this event come together and be so incredibly successful.
This community is so unique and very interesting overall to just sit back and observe. Myself I considered an outsider here as this was my first SAS, surrounded by people that have been to all 7 years or more than 1 year but I guess you start somewhere right? Every interaction and conversation was so pleasant. Always great to meet people in person and put that mud handle or instagram account to an actual human face. Sharing this passion for these Land Cruisers brings together some truly amazing people and furthermore has a tendency to make some very special memories. Thank you SAS for letting me vacation, disconnect, and reconnect. A special thanks to my close friend @CruiserTrash for telling me regardless of my potentially fu*ked work schedule I need to register for it and if it comes down to it back out at a later time. Now home reflecting on photo's I am extremely happy that I did not have to back out of this incredible event.
So with all that being said cheers to SAS and everyone that was there.

Rob, was an absolute pleasure wheeling with you. And for those that do not know Rob is probably one of the most experienced off roading folks in our whole group (I use “probably” because I don’t want to overlook anyone). So when we first pulled his 40 back over I had to ask a million questions. Should not have been surprised by how cool he was about everything…especially learning he’s been in this situation many times. And Tim (Robs co-pilot) was just as calm and efficient in the recovery process. Hope you both can make it again next year. Thank you. Jimmy
Did you start a spread sheet for 2024 on what to bring already?
I'm not at liberty to discuss that and can neither confirm or deny, as it may compromise agents in the field.... .
