softening a drop cord

Have a couple of drop cords that the outer cover is becoming hard. Any Ideas to soften up the outer cover to make it flexable again

I had the same problem with a few of my 25' cords.

I wiped them down with a few times with diesel fuel and they softened up.

Have a couple of drop cords that the outer cover is becoming hard. Any Ideas to soften up the outer cover to make it flexable again

OK, I will admit that I spilled diesel fuel on them and when I wiped them off they were soft and flexable again.
