Hey all, going to sell the cruiser to fund a new project for the family. I convinced the wife that combining her Lexus RX and the Land Cruiser into one vehicle makes more sense for us, and so we're looking at a newer GX to replace both.
I bought this cruiser of of Craigslist last year and spent some time dialing it in. You can search my threads for information on the suspension fixes I did. It now has a TJM 2.5" lift and stabilizer, 315/75/16 tires on stock wheels, a hand throttle, and the all important lockers (which function perfectly.)
I added the following items:
It has no mechanical issues short of a minor oil leak from somewhere on the front of the block. I replaced the thermostat this fall and the heat blows very hot. The air also works perfectly and blows cold enough that you have to dial it back after a while. I would confidently drive this truck to New York if you paid me enough to do it.
Aesthetically the truck is not perfect but the paint still shines nicely, there's no rust to speak of and other than some bumper scuffs and a wrinkled door skin, still looks pretty awesome. The interior is in good shape with the exception of a small rip in the driver's seat.
Asking $6500 as it sits. PM here or email to timrmoore at gmail.com if you have questions or would like to see more pics.
Thanks,
Tim
Pics from when I bought it. I gutted the interior and shampooed/cleaned the entire interior:
