Very nice Jay.

It's going to get even colder tonight.

I've been outside when it was -10. Top of Snowshoe Mountain a few years back. I was outside for maybe 2 minutes. Just enough time to throw a cup of water in the air and watch it freeze before it hit the ground.

Coldest I've camped was 10 degrees. It was no fun at all. Everything breaks or doesn't work. I couldn't imagine camping up on Mitchell tonight.

*edit* they are pushing 2 feet at the top of beech mountain... pretty impressive for an up slope snow event, and they should have more of the same next Mon/Tues!!! Lots of Powda!!!!

I've got skiing itch this year. Even got the skiis tuned up a few weeks ago.

I used to get free skiing at Wolf Mtn, not sure if I can pull it this year, but maybe. You know I once worked for TN State Parks as an interpretive specialist. I couldn't imagine being the rangers that live up on Mt. Mitchell, I was at Roan Mtn. SP over the border and our housing was in the valley and we still got heaps of snow!! Those guys are the embodiment of what a Park Ranger should be...

It was 20 on the BRP at lower altitude (I think) at 4pm Sun, and windy, so I bet its getting really cold up on the balds.

I'd go back in a heartbeat! This three season crap down here really bugs me.

Did camp in the Matanuska Valley when it got down to -35 overnight back in HS... that sucked.
