So I have always wanted a cargo van for a 3rd vehicle...

For years I have always wanted a 3/4 or 1 ton short cargo van that was fully loaded and not white. No windows and complete comfort up front including full power, console, leather and heated seats.

I want something that does not look like a commercial rig in my driveway, but have some appeal to it.

Thinking the largest roof rack with 3 or 4 sections from front to back with room for a RTT.

Lighting on all 4 corners and LED on the interior.

BFG tires on OE wheels.

Insulated interior with the possibility of a fold down bunk.

Long gun safe in rear corners.

Storage on one side for stove and pantry.



I still want a 100 series, but for myself and the dog this would be cool in my eyes.

Then I found this one with doors on both side, so this opens a whole new idea to floor plans. Or stay with on door on pass side.

had one sort of like that a long time ago that I had sorta built up a bit for travelling. It had rear windows though and even then was a bit dark and stuffy inside for sleeping. Ended up putting in a roof vent that helped a lot.

I also would use it for Home Depot runs, fishing, hunting and recycle center visits.

Look at Dodge Sprinters... You also see them under Mercedes and International badging. Diesel and better gas mileage. Full standing headroom is also available. You can get em fully glassed out if you wish. For about 15k it is possible to make em a serious 4x4. The 5 cylinder inline turbo-diesel will do 500k miles with proper care and has plenty of get up and go.

Me like the doors on both sides. You can switch from side to side while camped depending on sun/wind...

Or do the Brad Pitt Tailgunner thing from Mr & Mrs Smith.

I'd also do up a faky logo on the side, to keep folks from getting too interested, though the pimped out sunvisor does kinda point out that it's not a commercial rig.

I use a van as my ultimate SUV. After many
4 X 4 trucks, I have never looked back. Ya, you will always hear comments like " you need to buy a truck"

WHY ? You wish your truck could do what my van does.

I've had a van for years and by far the best all around utility vehicle and tow truck. Prior to this one, I always had windowless vans but this time I found a diesel 4x4 E350 with windows all around. They had factory tint to which I added a real heavy tint. I like it better than windowless in that I can still see out but it is almost impossible to see in. It also looks less "commercial" than a windowless.

I dunno. For the $90-$100k+ those rigs are going for I bet I could get my truck to do quite a bit, for quite a bit less.

a friend of mine bought a dodge sprinter it is great he put a bunk up top he lives in it in LA he is a surfer/movie
extra his bike is hanging in it and room for boards snow and surf it is kick ass!!!!
