Wow... Those are some awesome looking SARS sliders Dude...

How/why where tires sooooo cheap. Thought the idols are like 500 ea in that size...??

Are Ironman and metal tech in oregon?
There are som many big name 4x Fab shops here it's ridiculous. Like 3 or 4 in Eugene/springfield alone.

I'm thinking of swapping the rear elocker out for a grizzly locker. For the tire size I don't want to worry about the spline issues and I can deal with the road manners a detroit style locker preaents.

Landtank sells a custom milled axle shaft so it won't get jammed up in the elocker when it twists. Easier than changing hole locker/ etc.

Black box making headway?

I think it's more likely you'll be breaking your R&P in the front diff when reversing than twisting the splines in the rear.

Doubtful. I've run 38 tsl's on my previous 80 and the new owner is still running them almost every weekend with no issue. I'll also avoid the gas pedal while in reverse.

I'm not saying you will break, I just think if anything, it's more likely the front r&p will be an issue before the splines in the rear will.

I'm hoping the rear splines hold up, but maybe the grizzly would be a good piece of mind?
I wouldn't worry about it. Worst case is you twist splines and it acts like a spool until you get home. Spare thirds aren't that pricey if it comes to that.

I didn't have opportunity to work on the truck itself today, but I did some work on the winch.
I decided to run a Warn upright (I don't need a reminder of what I've said of Warn in the past, my opinion hasn't changed) mainly because of the line speed benefits over a planetary style winch. I shopped around for an 8274 and ran across an 8200 that is the stepping stone between the belleview and 8274 . The big difference between the two is the bolt pattern is 1 3/8" wider on the 8200 than as on the 8274.
To make it work with 4x4 labs new front bumper it would have to be narrowed which could only be done by narrowing the drum and inner drive shaft. So that's what I spent my day doing.
With the help of a friend, I cut down the drum and he tigged it together.
Now I'll finish rebuilding the winch, cut 50' out of the line (it had 200') and install it as soon as the labs bumper shows up and I can weld it together.

RCV's showed up today, so it looks like it's time to tear into the front axle. I also have the tires being mounted and balanced so I'll grab a pic of them on the truck later.
