Snow wheeling the big heavy 80

If your going to run chains get the ladder V bars...

I have a bunch of pics someplace...

Truth be told the 80 is a heavy gal, she will sink no matter what so you may as well accept it and go for sheer digging / paddle power in deep snow.

Otherwise no matter what you will sink to your frame in the cascade concrete. I've gone down to 3- 5 lbs with dual Beadlocks.

I did that in deep mud the other weekend. It was almost embarrassing. Mine was the "most capable rig" out there, but I just kept digging down into the mud. In off camber situations I was just slipping down the hill. We helped some clueless hipsters in a Pathfinder, and our friends in a new Jeep Renegade (yes...) get through the really bad parts. They actually had less trouble than we did.

Have you ran the Toyos that low without beadlocks? I've only gone to 9

I run them at the dunes between 4-6 psi whenever I'm there. No bead locks no problems, toyos have an uncanny thick bead

For fun (my buddy's 80. Almost same build as mine)

Aw yeah! Gotta love that Cascade concrete! I had a serious WTF moment right after I moved to NW WA from Colorado, decided to go check out some backroads up in the N. Cascades on Memorial Day weekend (hadn't seen snow in Colorado for a couple months at this point) and as soon as we got to ~2000' elevation came around a turn and there was still like a 4' snowpack.

We get light, fluffy snow down here in the SW but I still run chains. Usually just the rear is enough but if I'm breaking trail, then all four chains go on the 315s.

My 80

My friend's 40 with a LT1 Vette engine. Turn up the volume!
