Hi folks, not looking for a pity party, just trying to get back intact --thoughts on replacement for rear tailgate window? Should I just take it to dealership or are there better options? I'm in Tucson....
Thanks.

Nevermind...I guess I have a zero-deductible glass rider on my GEICO policy, which will pay for this. Taking to AAA Glass in Tucson based on a positive review from another Mudder.

Do you have glass protection insurance?
Yeah hey Medtro thanks, I was just kinda stewing in my annoyance for awhile before I got to thinking constructively. Filed online police report, filed claim with GEICO, I guess they will cover glass repair full cost. I'm really bumming because I lost my "everyday carry" truck repair tools.

Go GEICO!

Glad it worked out. For all that damage what did they get?
My 1/2", 3/8", and 1/4" ratchets, sockets, extensions. Crescent wrenches and a couple kobalt ratchet wrenches. Vice grips, plyers, channel locks. Multi-bit ratchet screwdriver. Voltage checker. Claw hammer. Trim tool. Couple clamps. Odds and ends. Everything that made me feel reasonably confident driving around in a 24 year old rig. Wah--there, I said it

Sorry to see that. Geico actually is really good with coverages, prices and communications.

Land cruisers in general are a target, even clapped out ones, b/c they're still cool. Supped up land cruisers, even slightly... a lift, a rack, hell a sticker might do it, and it's like thief moths to a flame. Every time you park and leave, specially way out, ya gotta wonder. Guessing yours is at home, which is even worse and more infuriating.

On the bright side, no firearms or camping gear lost, no one hurt and no real significant damage.

1st World Problems :cautious:

That sucks. No matter what, the feeling you've been violated is hard to shake

The sense of violation takes a while. One idea was to leave doors unlocked so thieves wouldn't have to break glass, then the cops said the thugs don't even check the doors; they just hammer the glass and go.

Good to know the glass will be replaced; what about the tools?

Oh the tools are getting replaced. I have to be able to repair my maintenance, right?
