small bubble in paint

can anyone help me... what caused this... I painted the underside of my alum. tub. first with primer then with color... I know it would not lay down perfect because I did not sand primer. I thought I was being carful with dust... I cleaned the alum really well after... shot the primer then the paint... I did not wipe it down after the promer.. I did open my big garage door.. but we have so much snow and ice now.. I just can not see dust getting in from there... but my floor in the shop is not spotless for sure...

help please.........

It's caused by some type of contaiminant - like oil or cleaner left on the surface.

Best thing to do at this point is sand it down again with 600 grit and dig out those spots and sand those spots down again and re-prime. Then go over the entire area with a "tac rag" and spray again. That could have been caused by water, oil or any other type of fluid that does not coinside with the material you are using.

Also, do not spray silicone in the same area that you are painting. Silicone will float in the air and attach itelf very easily.

my 2 cents.

Side note: If the area is not that bad you can wet sand the area with 1000 grit and buff it out. This may work, but if there is any other type of material underneath, you might as well do what I mentined above.

Same here, did you shake off your drop plastic cloth right after painting? Or did you open up the door when it was snowing/raining? That would cause it also.

Are you using a good water separator for your compressor? And If you had an automatic oiler for your air tools, you will need to use a new air hose.

Drain your compressor and get a good seperator
