That's a cool idea! definitely going to help. I was toying with the idea of putting an electric winch inside the rear bumper, similar to what Crushers is doing in the 70's forum. Might be something for you to kick around. :)

Thanks Man!

So, before I paint these emblems, is there anything I need to know about doing it the right way? I was just going to paint and buff off the paint on the chrome. I'm not changing the color, just don't want to screw them up.

Thanks Guys,

You talking about Female finger nail polish? That might work. I don't think my Wife has any black, though. :)

I don't if it's the right way but I use one-shot pinstripe paint and a small artist brush to repaint the inside of emblems.

I’ve tried to spray and buff and can never get them to look as good and it takes longer than just taking my time with a brush.

I was just going to ask for a link and there it is! Thanks.

Do you prime first or just top coat? I have some of those small brushes and there's a dealer @ 25 miles from me.

Lay it on thick wipe off as you go and walk away to have a

Funny timing! I was in at the hobby store over the weekend, trying to get my old childhood R/C dune buggy working for my little guy, and I asked the guy about re-doing the 4 emblem that goes on the back of the Pig. He did not want to sell me any model paint. He said nail Polish would be best. No prime, built in brush, millions of colors, chip resist, UV resist. Clean up w/ acetone.

Well get her some! Who knows? You might like her sporting the Goth look.

Either that or re-do your emblems in hot pink. Have I ever told you my thoughts on painting Pigs pink? :)

pigs should only be pink when they first come out, now Tacos on the other hand...

Back in the shop and getting the dash finished. Still need to put a sleeve or grommet, in the vent hole, in order to center the rod. To light the dash up, I'm trying these little LED lights, which are only 1/4 inch dia. Using three over head the knobs. The rocker switches will be lit when the headlights come on or in use. Next up the gauge panel.

Tried using different paint and finger nail polish on the emblems, but with my old shaky hands, it didn't go well. Stripped all the paint off and spray painted them. Good for me!

Got the winch all taken off, in order to cut the spring perches. Not looking forward to that job.

Jason,

To be honest, I'm not sure. Can't find much information on the watts. Current rated at 15mA ? Marketed as pilot dash lights. Hope they aren't too bright, as I'm using them for the blinkers, CEL and high beams, also.

Well, I guess they'll be good for the blinkers, etc. Thanks for the heads up. That's how this whole build is, trial and error.
