I forgot to report back. All is good glass goes up and down fast and the handle works. While I had it apart, thought I might add a little weight savings since Pigeaten is coming at me with his V8. I've got two alum. panels for a tailgate panel. One is for strength and the top one for a cooking platform, step for RTT, etc. Add those up and it gets heavy, so I added some speed holes to the inside panel.:hillbilly:

For the love of everything good check your nuts. :) I bought new u bolts and nuts after the big axle shaft debacle and sure enough they needed tightening after @ 40 miles of driving. I drove over to my hotrod friend's shop, put it on the lift and replaced all header collector bolts, nuts and gaskets. Found a loose header to head bolt, too. I'm checking all I can think of, greasing, airing up and topping off. It's a long list and I'm sure to forget something, but that's why they call it an adventure.

We keep checking the weather in the mountains, going to be cold at night, so packing my union jacks, like the guys suggested. When we leave the group for home, we're headed up through Yellowstone and over Bear Tooth Pass, which is open now, but could change.

Question... In preparing for the Show N Shine, I've been polishing my alum. alternator and other bits, but can't seem to get the sheen I'm going for, so what are you guys using.

See you all next week!
