I am planning on Fabing up some sliders with all the extra slag iron I have.

Wanted to know what everyones preference is as far as attachment to the frame.

I have seen a lot of people use brackets to bolt it on, drill holes to bolt it on, or even just weld them on.

Even saw one guy on here weld some tubing onto the frame so he can slide, on and off, his sliders...

Whats your preference? Why?

Everyone will have a different opinion. one truck are welded and the other is bolted. The bolted one loosened up a bit and the slider moved up in the pinch weld and made noise. No big deal to tighten down and hasn't been an issue for over a year.

If you want to remove them, the bolt is easy. The welds take a sawzil and cleanup.

Do you ever plan on taking them off? even when you sell it?

weld and bolt

I have a set that I fabed, Mine are bolt on, I tried the drill and tap idea ( not good ), the bolt on do move around a bit even when they are tight. Th best way I have seen is some my brother made. He drilled and tapped some 1" thick plate and welded that to the frame and then bolted to the plates. He has needed to take them off in the past and was able to because of the attatchment. My preferance is weld and bolt for what its worth.
