Here is the dilema:
I need sliders but they need to serve two purposes.
1. They need to protect the rocker panels
2. They have to stick out far enough so my wife can load the kids in and out of the car.

I know Slee makes them but they don't have them now. They also don't have an ETA on when they will have them. This is what I was thinking. Buy the other sliders Slee makes and then have something made to bolt on for my wife when she is busing the kids around. When we hit the trail unbolt the step contraption and off we go.

Any ideas?

If ya need e'm for wheelin now... do the bolt on thang...if not, wait & see... what if your truck did not come with runnin' boards...would you still have to get a step...or did she get spoiled having a step to begin with?

i imagine you could by nerf bar bolt on steps that would match the slee tube size. fwiw as a data point, my hanna tube sliders stick out plenty far enough to serve as steps and are great for the family on a medium lift but now on Js they are no longer as "convenient" b/c of height.

The whole wife...spoiled thing is a whole other subject and another forum. Id rather not get into.

I have running boards now. I just need to figure out a way to have a slider with a step in the right places. Probably just the rear door areas need to have some type of step or flat surface.

I say wait for slee's...they are worth the wait, I LOVE mine!!!

My Hanna's are a great step especially after I added a little grip tape on the top so I would stop slidding off and busting my a$$ ever time it rained.

You cannot go wrong with Hanna or Slee products.

You can't go wrong with either Ken Hanna's sliders or Christo Slee's sliders/step sliders. If the princess is a huge consideration, I'd wait for Christo's step slider. It's the closest thing to 'factory running board' replacement and still give YOU real slider protection.

Just make your own

I have the Slee Step sliders, very family friendly, plus you won't slip on them in the rain like the other sliders.

I just put the Hanna's on my truck this week. I thought about the Slee Step's but I liked the Hanna's so I got them. First outing with my 8mo pregnant wife she commented "I really like having the step back." Worked fine for her 8mo preg, she is 5'7 and this is on a med OME set-up. May not be as good for a shorter person but I'll add the tape and no complaints from my klan.

I am in the market for a set of sliders for my 1997 LC. I currently have the Slee step sliders on my 1994 LC and will want to go with them again. I got the impression it might be a couplde of months until Slee got new ones ready. I am going to wait for them.

What about the ARB sliders? They can be used as steps and you can put the front fender protectors between the sliders and bumper. That looks really cool.

They're really just beefy steps and do not afford real protection for rockers/body.

Thanks All

As much as I didn't want to wait I guess the best thing to do is hold out for the Slee step sliders. Now all I have to do is be real careful and not damage anything for the next couple of months.

Thanks everyone for your input!

I see you have the same year cruiser, did you make your own?
Have any pics?

Sliders

I love my Hannah sliders, and even more so with the cat protection they come with. I have no problems, and the kids (3.5 and 7 yrs) have no problems. We live in rainy country, and I have never had a problem with slipping.
