Skid plate bolts

Have a few stripped skid plate mounting bolts (12 mm heads). They won't tighten. Any suggestions on how to handle fixing these? I assume I need to go up a size in the bolt and tap for the bigger bolt? Thanks

Stock skid plate / splash guard bolt locations & part numbers

It seems this comes up pretty often, and having just removed my stock skids it was easy to take the picture I had been thinking of for a while. You'll need three part numbers to attach the stock splash guards. 12x M8 large washer bolt, these go into the purple locations on the diagram...

Yeah if the bolts are the problem that thread will help. But if the inserts in the frame are bad.. could be a lot more difficult.

Note that some go into the frame or crossmember, others go into the "spine" thing between the front two skids that is removable/replaceable.

If it's the frame inserts, I doubt M10 would fit, but I'm going on memory here.

I drilled out the holes and put rivet nuts in their place along with new bolts. Good as new.

I thinks it's just a standard M8 rivet nut and an appropriate bolt to go with it.
