Can you see the passenger side mirror from the driver seat enough to use it? The brackets I have are a different kind and I can’t see much.
I can, also for the passenger side I chose the curved mirror. It’s just like any modern car or truck except it doesn’t have that text at the bottom telling you that objects are closer than they appear.

Thanks…mine are about that close and I can’t see much when the doors are on.

Side question…what are the hood latches on the top of the hood for?? And the rubber pieces?

I just extended the passenger side out further. The latches on the hood are hold downs for the windshield frame when folded down.View attachment 3630367
Thanks…that is helpful.

Mine doesn’t have the rubber pads or the latches. No holes for them either. I’ll investigate.

I use these mirrors while the doors are off. I have the factory 1974 mirrors on the doors the truck came with. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

You’re referring to the windshield hold downs & cushions, standard on all 40 Series Land Cruisers. If yours are missing, someone removed them.

Digging up this old thread to say, the SOR copies of the EU spec mirrors are trash. My rig is finally nearly finished, and any time I exceed 30 MPH, the mirrors fold in on themselves from the wind. I've tried everything to adjust them. They are totally useless. SURPRISE, you get what you pay for!! lol.

I also noticed that City Racer has the genuine euro mirrors in stock, so I just bought a set.
I bought those Spectre ones too, the first time I bolted them up the brackets split. Then while I was handling one of the mirrors recently, I dropped it and the plastic mirror housing cracked pretty severely. I bought them years ago and don’t remember paying too much. Live and learn.

I have a set of the twisted tube style ones if anybody’s interested!
(PM me with a offer or trade for OEM other mirrors )

They need mirrors but the tubes and brackets are in great shape and just need a paint job.
I have doors off an older 40 with the wing windows and my mirrors don’t really work with that style of mirror.

My 40 is a bit of a Frankenstein. ‘75 factory soft top, (factory tailgate!) older hard top, and older doors. Four wheel drums too but it has the 2F with the 4-speed 🤷‍♂️

I purchased curve mirrors from Toyota this summer. Not sure if they are still available.
