Should I, or should I not buy this 97 LX450?

It will sell. Expect to do some work and baseline it. The mixed tires would drive me nuts. It looks like it has seat covers replaced those are pricey.

Never seen a Lexus grill like that with horizontal chrome 'stripes'. Anyone else?

it has windshield wiper problems, for sure

bumper and running boards have been reprayed - leather probably replaced (notice how the seat back in the front is not really matching the leather color)

it all depends on the amount of rust, but for the mileage, the price isn't all that bad
