Good q, all depends what you're going for. OEM paint was nothing fancy of course. 😄

I actually did go with DBC, but that was a few years ago now. Price was indeed higher, but you do likely get a little better base coverage with the pigment in DBC depending on color, so you may use less material making the price delta less. I'd wager Shopline will also look just fine.

I was all-in already on my resto already, so I figured I'd just go the last mile at that point, in only doing it once. 😆

I’ll add- 3 gallons to do a 40 with some left over, if the budget is super tight go with the shop line. If not you won’t remember the $1800 in a few years. I really notice the paint quality in the blast cabinet.

Well I pulled the trigger with shopline. I ended up getting it from a guy I know that owns a body shop. He did say DBC laid down better but, shopline would be just fine with what I am doing. Guess I will be putting down more coats. 😬

Time to get busy with 2k primer and then sealer.

Shopline it is. It’s all in the prep, right. 🤪😂

First few bits in Rustic Green. I wanted to test my skills on some small parts. Bought a new gun for the base and clear. (Black widow) from Harbor Freight .
Pictures does it no justice. I have one small run on one of the side panels, but no biggie.
